I don’t think it’s very secretive, it’s just inaccessible by and large and no one tries to make it accessible or spread the ideas in a practical or concrete form to the masses ! But also public schooling has been defunded by both parties which makes it harder for people to engage with such ideas.
A lot of the secrecy I think is falling away due to academic books being pirated so often. University libraries are open to the public. If anything, what keeps universities insular is educational austerity that prevents people from learning how to read or engage with jargon filled research.

So I do think you are wrong in this final statement ! Anarchists in Spain also ran very strong labor unions during the Franco Regime and before as well as after ! Given these union anarchists were never dedicated to eliminating the root cause that necessitates such militancy. But they did something.
Big Bill Haywood openly opined about arming homeless people and unleashing them on the wealthy and so did Lucy Parsons and both of them built the strongest union in American history before AFL CIO was ever a thing!

My frustration with many so called gender abolitionists is that many appear to critique gender but reify biological sex. They say gender is an attachment to biological sex. But scientifically, biological sex is not any more stable than gender is culturally and socially. Institutions cause both!
Gender cannot be abolished because it isn’t stable but biological sex is not stable either especially if you have read biology about sex determination from the 2010s. Institutions that regulate gender and sex can be abolished. If abolishing gender means going against institutions that enforce it, ok
