That article is strange. It leads with examples of a data breach and ransomware, then segues into AI use in supply chains. Did AI cause the cyber attacks? It's hard to see how, and the article makes no connection. But we had cyber attacks before AI and they've always been bad for supply chains.
A story arc was a must. Unlike the original trilogy, which Lucas might have improvised, and unlike the prequels that benefitted from VI's conclusion, a sequel trilogy had to justify having any post-VI story at all. It had to provide an arc that brought the whole thing to a conclusion. But no arc!
