Please have mercy. Even 5 dollars can help provide urgent treatment and medicine. We are holding onto hope, and your small support keeps that hope alive.

Have you seen Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person? Think you might be into that one too since it's got something of a similar vibe.

Grammarly sucks, pass it on.

Saw Hoppers earlier today. Maybe the most I've liked a recent Pixar movie since Turning Red.

I guess Daniel Chong and Domee Shi are Pixar's future, eh?

Just going to propose that we ditch Grammarly for Harper. It's not perfect, but with this shitshow here, it's a very good alternative.

The best time to stop using Grammarly was years ago. The second best time is right now

TIFF 2025 β€” β€˜It Was Just an Accident’ Review: What is the True Gain from Revenge? Jafar Panahi directly confronts his frustration with the Iranian government’s impositions on its own citizens in this taut thriller.

Thought this was a good time to repost my review of Jafar Panahi's magnificent It Was Just an Accident, for @cinemafromthespectrum.com.

Grammarly has been pretty garbage ever since they started embracing the genAI model to supposedly push people away from accidental plagiarism.

I recommend using Harper instead.

It was the casual homophobia that spread among classmates when it was an open secret that a well-respected student was gay.

Grammarly turned me into an AI editor against my will and I hate it The company tells Platformer it will let experts opt out of the controversial feature β€” but how different is it than what every other AI company is doing?

Wait, what?! Grammarly made an AI persona of me and all these other journalists?!!!!!

Thank you @caseynewton.bsky.social for shaming them into at least offering a paltry optoutβ€” although obviously that is not enough.

It’s genuinely insane how many cop dramas hinge on the idea that Internal Affairs is an omnipresent, suffocating entity trying to ruin cops’ lives for being too damn good at their job when in real life we get a steady drip of videotaped executions that don’t even go to trial.

If KOSA passes it will fundamentally change how we are able to interact and use the Internet.

KOSA must not pass.

I’m not against this idea. But it should be billed as Arnold’s final screen performance, like Daniel Day-Lewis in Phantom Thread

Democrats are going to fund and support this war. Like every enabling and collaborative stunt they pull, this is yet another opportunity to recognize they aren’t an opposition party but a captured group that serves the interests of the same wealth and oligarchical classes as the Republicans.

So which boutique label is going to release Kirk Wong's The Big Hit in 4K UHD?

Honestly I'm willing to settle for a part-time position right now because I'd rather *some* cash flow come in over the mere scraps I make on Substack/Patreon.

I mostly sent out applications to be a page at the Toronto Public Library; maybe even considering other part-time retail positions now.

Americans have no idea how much the world is shook, folks. Here in Thailand they have a running tally of how many days' worth of fuel the country has left.

I finally saw NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW THE MOVIE. Besides laughing a lot, and many "oh my god how did they do this?!" moments, the ending genuinely made me tear up. The power of best friendship and genuine love for Toronto!! Highly recommended.

Never thought I'd see my respect for Pete Docter go down so fast, but. Oof.

Like I just posted, fans and folks need to make a bigger deal about the toxic workplace nonsense that has festered in places like Pixar. No more stanning, fanboying, or dying on a hill for a studio, this is a huge problem that needs to be fixed.

Of course Twitter is freaking out about TimothΓ©e Chalamet saying he doesn't like ballet or opera, because they never focus on the important things during award season (i.e. people being censired for speaking about Palestine).
