Why isnβt Elizabeth Warren the Senate Minority Leader?

I know itβs difficult right now, but I insist that you seek and enjoy beautiful things, even if it seems frivolous or irresponsible in the face of overwhelming horror. I want you to feed yourself artistically, spiritually, and literally, because you canβt Do The Work when youβre starving.
Don't be fooled by this bill's name-- this is a book banning bill that will exclude LGBTQ books from all public schools NATIONWIDE.
Call your congresspeople and tell them to VOTE NO on this nakedly bigoted book banning bullshit.

Notice that no one ever asks the child what they want.
Some children in Dilley were so distraught they cut themselves or talked about suicide, parents told ProPublica.
They said kids lost their appetites after finding worms and mold on their food, had trouble sleeping, and were constantly sick.
And similarly, somehow always chips away at what the state is required to provide to empower its citizens to live dignified lives.
I do not think the most significant cultural shifts will come from a World War, Class War, Race War, or whatever other battle people weirdly fantasize about. I think itβll be an integration of the idea that children are people and not the property of their parents.
Is it possible that the reason we struggle to create a world that prioritizes the health and safety of every child is directly related to most adults (and parents) being formerly unprotected children, conditioned to make excuses, or be grateful for, the abuse and neglect they endured in childhood?
Protesters chanting "We're not cold, we're not afraid, Minne[apolis/sota] taught us to be brave" in Boston tonight outside Government Center station.
Two small children hold signs they made. "LEAVE MY FRIENDS ALONE!" "ICE GIT OUT YA FUCKIN DUMBIES π‘"
Gotta remind yourself not to cry when you see the kid's signs.
It's negative -25Β°F and tears are dangerous.
"LEAVE MY FRIENDS ALONE!"
"ICE GIT OUT YA FUCKIN DUMBIES π‘"
Hollllly moly, when it turns the corner. That is a lot of people.
My cousin texted me about ICE patrolling her apartment complex, and how a bunch of kids wonβt go to the bus stop anymore. This is terror. And, as usual, the children will suffer most.
Nasra Ahmed, a 23-year-old US citizen, was arrested and detained by ICE. She was held for TWO DAYS.
ICE agents handcuffed her, called her a racial slur, and she was knocked to the ground so hard she got a concussion.
This cannot continue happening. ICE needs to leave.

the question to ask about this is, okay, he wants to cancel the midterms. how does he get the VA state board of elections to cancel the midterms? how does he get the georgia board of elections to do it? how does he convince republican house members to quit their jobs and give up their paychecks?
It may not seem like it, but right now is a great time to think about the different world we want.
βBe kind, be involved, believe in your art,β he said. βAt a time when people tell you art is not important, that is always the prelude to fascism. When they tell you it doesnβt matter, when they tell you a fucking app can do art you say, if itβs that important, why the fuck do they want it so bad? The answer is because they think they can debase everything that makes us a little better, a little more human. And that, in my book, and in my life, includes monsters.β
Love this from Guillermo del Toro
I love my two blackout drunk Minnesota sons
"He took every Advanced Placement class he could, earned a scholarship to Brown and worked at Wawa over the summer to make enough money to buy a laptop, according to his two sisters."
Happy Birthday!
Congratulations!!
Beyond honored that SalvaciΓ³n was included in Kirkusβs Best Teen & YA Fantasy and Science Fiction of 2025 list among so many other greats π₯°
Kirkus has supported SalvaciΓ³n so much this past year and I am forever grateful.
As soon as I read this, my brain involuntarily yelled, βTULUM???β
This is deeply iconic and also makes so much sense.
From this minister's op-ed: "People wanting to experience God are more likely to meet the Divine trying to shut down the Broadview, Illinois, ICE facility than we ever were in church...God does not live in our houses of worship, but...with those who are bearing the brunt of cruelty in this moment."
