Oh blah.. The US is a democracy that is structured as a republic. They arent mutually exclusive.

No most people outside the aftermath of singular events like Pearl Harbour and 9/11 go into the military to get the benefits and actively thinking there will be no fight.
It happened last Easter. Everyone here was left behind. ;)
He did fight for Univ. Healthcare and got us started on a path there with Obamacare. You seem to forget getting those things done takes Congress as well which was giving him a bit of it as Reps swore to do everything not to benefit America but defeat Obama. 'One and Done' to quote Mcconnel.
He is a liar, a traitor, and antithetical to all american values.
A cartoon from the 1950βs thatβs more relevant than ever π
Instead of relearning the minutiae I can state what I need, test it, and have it in use instead of sidelining myself to relearn a task I won't need for a while again. Its like having a leatherman. Just as good as a special tool? Never. But a lot of times its enough when you want something now.
1 thing I CAN do but have need of only often enough to relearn the details each time: creating a regex. Doable? Sure. But Posix? Perl? JS? what exactly are the differences again?
I don't know that everyone actually has a place in their lives for LLMs. (Hot take there right? π€£) It could be that one has a static set of tasks they do that theyre 100% capable of & thats a good contented place to be. I always have x number of projects where having a general tool helps.
Thats a good thing. Companies are trying to sell us on an idea we all have to use it and accept it.. it doesn't bother me either way if people do. Just like any other tool. Right now its being overused, and over promoted, largely for jobs the tech is ill suited for. I however have found uses for it.
concerns yes, but I make sure not to upload anything I wouldn't be ok with being read in public. For getting better, I mostly use it as a tool 'can you take these google results and..' 'can you write me a userscript that...' 'condense this wikipedia article' etc. So its not learning a lot from me.
I make sure to use my free quota every day. But I'm not going to pay them a dime. That way I cost them more than just ignoring them. ;)
As a masked livestreamer and long time gamer myself I totally feel this. I'm ok with my worlds being where they are. I'm happy thinking people are just as awesome as I imagine them to be through witnessing their skills and appreciating those.
One of the lists out there one can sign up for here on Bsky is #electronicmusic .. I guess its fine for a general feed but there is very little to do with music, electronic or otherwise.
Would be nice if there was some auto filing system for this stuff. π€·ββοΈ
If you have windows 10 or later you also have linux through WSL. Most don't use it but we all have it. ;)
I've been into cooking a lot so its info Im used to. But most dont have any reason to.
Yea they're both start out as 'olive oil', so the same base ingredient. The lite has most of the taste and character things refined out. Those taste components don't meaningfully effect calories or anything like that. Get some high end EVOO and compare with store bought lite and you'll know.
Olive oil is essentially fruit juice. Just instead of water being the major fluid component oil is. If the xtra light olive oil was OJ they take out all orangey part and you'd be left with mostly water.
This is at least the 3rd time over the last several monthes Ive seen 38% as 'a new low'. Its more like the standard rating of his 2nd term.
Correction: It treated everyone as criminals. Remember a lot of the casualties of that were Americans as well.
so ahh.. small point.. who is it that commits said acts? When saying someone has committed those acts, you are in effect calling them one. 'I didn't call you a thief I just said you stole my stuff' doesn't make sense either.
There was due process for the deportations, a day in court, legal asylum seekers were honored, warrants used instead of 4th amend. violations, and innocent Americans werent killed all unlike this regime. And there were Congressional AUMF's for the bombings. not making them good but at least legal.
Severely disappointed in @elderscrollsonline.com moving into failure mode. Taking away daily login rewards and challenges known as endeavors that have been fun passtimes for near a decade. All to needlessly 'refocus'. You're taking things that were fun and replacing them with things noone asked for.
Fair weather friends. They're beginning to agree with us because they see the same rough seas now and that we're the ones with a stronger position. Not like the wouldn't switch back the moment they could, but its a good sign for now.
Clearly.
They really should be taken straight to jail when they willingly break a major campaign promise like that. Just make that part of the trade-off. 'Yes you can do that, but that breaks your contract and you will go to jail.'
Alt-NOAA is seeming more like alt-Pentagon today. Could at least put in a weather related pun or something.
Um he just did. You and the rest may be able to put a stop to it.. but its been started through the Congress' fecklessness and unwillingness to actually legislate or in any way counter the Mad wannabe King's whims.
They stop the flow of oil, they raise its price. They endanger ships fewer will take the risk and insurance will rise for all of them. Traditionally something the US has disliked. Those guys just chose a bad time.
That was never going to stop a battle outside the US. The hope was that it would stop an attack against US cities by the regular military.
