Stopped to charge at OnRoute Barrie Northbound and 3 out of 4 chargers are out of service. Brutal. The only working charger has a snow bank taking up half the parking space. Just embarrassing how Ontario treats EV drivers. #onroute #ontariogov
This local Wolfdog joined an Olympic ski event and triggered the finish-line camera. This is Nazgul. He snuck into a cross-country skiing sprint this morning and raced the homestretch with some competitors before being escorted home. 14/10 someone get him a medal
Franzi Schimmer captured this Grizzly bear in Brooks Falls, Alaska just floating along, tippy-tapping down the river, browsing the salmon.
Prior to hibernation, up to 40% of a bear's body mass is fat, which is less dense than water (~0.9 g/cm^2), so the murder-monster is also a floaty-boaty.

My book is called Zebra Meridian... I need this jacket!
Happy new year post featuring the covers of the 2025 books: Lynn Hutchinson Lee's ORIGINS OF DESIRE IN ORCHID FENS, Mahaila Smith's SEED BEETLE, Syr Hayati Beker's WHAT A FISH LOOKS LIKE and Rebecca Campbells' THE OTHER SHORE. Plus 2026 book T.K. Rex's THE WILDCRAFT DRONES, and two not yet announced titles.
We're a bit late with our new year's wishes. It takes time to muster up the optimism these days, but what else can we do but face the year with love and creativity and good books to support us? Resistance and transformation are hard work. May you find the stories and the courage you need this year.
Ordered an egg McMuffin behind Liam Gallagher in Gatwick. Years later, ordered a beer after Noel at the Horseshoe.
I'm so delighted to be on the Eco-Horror panel at the Little Ghosts Festival in Toronto. Come on out this Sunday, October 5th, 1PM at the Tranzac Club!

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.
The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.
Our problem isn't a lack of resources.
Our problem is ever-expanding inequality.

Makes sense!
More Carp UFO.
I saw an honest to god UFO tonight. Around 10:45 PM near Carp, Ontario.
I saw an honest to god UFO tonight. Around 10:45 PM near Carp, Ontario. No idea what it was. Maybe Perseids? Never seen a meteor move like that though Initially thought it was the ISS but the ISS was over Africa. Anyone else see this? Any ideas what it was?
No new oil and gas development. No new pipelines. For my American friends, vote the fascists out this midterm and hold the orange menace to account. For Canadians, contact your MPs and demand Carney invest in the kind of projects that will build a future that isn't on fire.
This is the Shell wildfire burning in Spain. The Trump wildfire burning in California. These wildfires belong to those who continue to trade our future for their profits. This is their fault and it will only get worse until we start to fight back.
Instead of thinking of the wild fires ravaging North America and Europe as random events loosely associated with climate change, we should reframe them: this is the oil and gas industry and the politicians that support them waging war on us. They are fire bombing our forests.

Lesbian cannibal novella! That's the elevator pitch right there!
It's just a βswarm of fish" following a duck.
