I'd be enthusiastic for a community-led takeover of the Forest of Bowland (Lancaster & Lancashire) - it should be the country's flagship rewilding / peat restoration project.

Yellow flower with red spots and blotches growing out of the paving
This flower has appeared between the cracks in the paving in my garden. Anyone know what it is??
Iβm very very close now to giving up my labour membership, what is going on!!
When the train is due in 3 mins, and the station is at the top of an unforgiving hill, with traffic lights.

Made it!!!
Whenever you're feeling overwhelmed by it all, nature can always be relied on to provide profound hope, beauty, meaning, and joy.
If you're actively helping nature through rewilding, those benefits are right off the charts. π
This is exactly why Surfers Against Sewage was formed over 30 years ago in the South West. How depressing is it nothing has changed and SAS is now a national organisation ?

Which guys are those?
This is really upsetting. I love ow swimming. Do you have the link to this data?
Eye-opening graph. The biggest wildfire incidents in the UK don't occur when it's hottest, in high summer: they take place in April - *when landowners set fire to their grouse moors & lose control of burns.*
Time to ban moorland burning.

A light blue diagram depicting the sea, with the water's surface at the top, and just below it is an outline of the Mary Rose, with the depth (12m, 40ft or 6.7 fathoms). There is a line showing the seabed, which takes a rapid dive into the vertical...

An experienced cyclist was recently killed just round the corner from me. Hit whilst cycling in a painted cycle lane (which says it all about the value of them). Absolutely devastating.
Oh crikey hope youβre ok. Thatβs frightening.
Itβs really frustrating isnβt it. It does feel aggressive out there, plus the ones that just donβt look. Iβm too anxious to deal with it
I did persevere cycling to work for a while, itβs not really that far. But the afternoon traffic was/is just too aggressive and I gave it up. potholes and detritus in the cycle lane (where there is one) didnβt help
