I'm entering my 30s, and I thought I'd share some of my fave JayVik drawings for the occasion because they just mean so much to me ❤️

This same warning applies to publishers, and I've seen the exact same stories there :/

Sometimes there are great ones, sometimes there are ones made to take advantage of anyone they can get their hands on. Always do your research, and if you are able to, talk to other people they represent!

my hottest take is that we need to stop enabling chronic self deprecation outside of a joking context. responding to “my art sucks” with “no ur arts great“ does nothing but normalize bad coping mechanisms. we should be praising self confidence and emotional maturity instead

Don't go looking up what blocklists you're on or who blocks you, down that path lies madness, poster's madness! Don't do it! People will block you for any reason, or no reason at all, just ignore it. I always assume that if I'm blocked it's probably because I was annoying.

This goes for American comics, too. Take what you think they make, halve it, then halve it again. And if they aren't working for the Big Two, halve it again. And to be brutally honest, if they're writing and drawing graphic novels, halve it yet again.

Having comics as a hobby is great. You can still take your work seriously, but without finding reference or inspiration, you will only improve so much. Comics is more than art. I’ve seen some with gorgeous art but awful flow & lettering. Often from people “too busy” to read other comics.

Whenever people tell me they are “too busy” to read other comics it’s a big red flag for me, cus not only are they typically not good in community settings but also shows me they don’t really want improvement imo if they purposely strangle themselves

Heated Rivalry is a nuanced thing but lately the emotion that's coming out on top is that corpos are allowed to feed us sex and queerness through its eyes but my artist friends are getting their groceries snatched out of their hands by those same entities

you know thats actually an excuse quite a few people use....

Yeah we were bummed since all our other machines in our house run off Bazzite :/ but hey any Linux is no Windows!

Yes! I had access to all asset store features and my account. This tutorial does specify an order that needs to be done in logging in to make it work correctly, since apparently if you do it to early it won't work

Here is the tutorial I followed~
I am using CashyOS, I couldn't get it to work *fully* on Bazzite. I have not tried Mint. And yes, I did use Wine/Bottles as well, worked just fine! Everything about CSP is working, even asset store (which was my problem with Bazzite)
