Belle is a movie where I can’t help but admire it in its imperfections. Yes, the writing’s pretty whack, but it’s a rare movie that seeks to position itself as “anti-cyberpunk.”

Itaoka's animation for Precure henshin trends toward evenly spaced, fluid movement in a way that'd be technically amazing but not very satisfying if it weren't for the snappy moments he tactically deploys. Dual transformations with long cuts boost that hypnotic quality he's got

One of the main ideas behind the Ikoku Nikki anime so far has been to use the structure of the house that the two leads share to underline how "living together" has been a technicality. They're still two separate lifestyles and there is tangible, solid separation between the two
