Haha great image π¬
Two crocuses with pale yellow petals emerging from oak leaves.
A couple of pretty, pale yellow crocuses.
Weβve become SO spoiledβ¦
2-toned daffodil with white outer petals and yellow inner petals growing amongst a whole bunch of others that are out of focus
The 2-toned daffs have now started to bloom as well π±

Freshly made fettuccine noodles handing from a wooden pasta drying rack.
Sunday fun day. Homemade noodles taste so much better.

It was an eye opener for sure. Puerto Vallarta has been safe for decades, I gather. Also an eye opener how poorly some airlines are willing to treat you!
Thanks so much π. At the moment I feel very done with international travel!
Ah thanks.
Someone mustβve put me in a Canadian starter pack, which is sweet. But Iβll only follow you back if you interact with my posts and I get a sense of who you are!
Thank you!! All our group of 9 are now home π
Thank you so much π. Iβm thinking I may be done with international travel. Canada has more than enough great travel destinations for me. I just donβt have the stamina anymore for when things go wrongβ¦
Late last night, after 3 flights over 2 days, thru the US (which weβd wanted to avoid), and on our own dime, we made it home from #PuertoVallarta. If weβd still been depending on #Westjet, we would still be thereβand many are. We are exhausted, and battered in spirit, but at least we are home. β
Itβs absolutely shameful that the Government of Canada lets Canadian airlines get away with this behavior. If you are going to allow a monopoly to occur in an industry, the least you can do is ensure and enforce strict consumer protections.

Canadians CONTINUE to be stranded in Puerto Vallarta. Many are having to pay their own way home @anitaoakvilleeast.bsky.social @mark-carney.bsky.social
Airlines have a legal obligation to get them home NOW. Please share, we need to UP the volume!

I should add that 5 of our family members (my MIL and the 6 year old are now out of their necessary medications) are still here also, without having been told when they get to go home. At least Sunwing is paying for their accommodation.
would have meant an extra $2100!!
It will be SO GOOD to get home!! Thanks for your support!
Thanks for this, Anna. We found out yesterday that weβd been rebooked for March 2 (!) but in the meantime weβve changed our plans again and are flying to San Francisco today, staying overnight there with my sister, and home tomorrow. Just as well as the resort is now charging us $300/night which
Thank you, this is very validating and helpful π€
Okay we have paid $2700 to get ourselves home from #PuertoVallarta ONE WEEK AFTER we were supposed to leave because #Westjet is doing precisely NOTHING proactive to get us home. Iβm starting to wonder about suing themβ¦.
@castanet.net
Iβm quoted in this articleβ¦
They shouldnβt have to contact their airport reps? Who knowsβ¦
The latest on the disappointing Westjet: my SIL was on hold with them for 5.5 hours today only to be told to GO TO THE AIRPORT (itβs 10:30 pm) to speak to a Westjet representative. Yet, the Canadian government has told people to go to the airport ONLY if they have a booked flight. π‘ #PuertoVallarta
My BIL said today that these days nullify all the fun of the holiday proper. Thatβs so sad but I pretty much agreeβ¦
Yup. Huge family fight today. Trying to remind myself, this too shall passβ¦
