yeah, i tried to do the same thing with a blender mii editor thingy at one point but exporting them from that is apparently such a herculean task that none of the creators had figured it out
my solution ended up just setting up a bunch of cameras and taking 2D renders

if i'm right, then score variables should not work in the health text script, and health variable should work just fine in the score script
unfortunate, i don't know what could be causing this then. i guess you could try storing the variable elsewhere and see if that changes anything
the godot discord could also be a good place to see if anyone there knows

if it doesn't then a thing that might work is adding "await get_tree().process_frame" (or something like that, been a bit since i've used this) at the start might help? if it's a execution order thing. otherwise i'm out of ideas
looks like it should work based on what i can see here (assuming scorevariables is an autoload), there's some weirdness with these and sometimes it gets fixed if you just restart the editor
