Movie 6

Batman. We finally get to know Batman. Villain for this one is two-face and serves as his origin story. Batman is starting to move from an apparent cryptid to an open vigilante. Two face moves from a public servant to a legend/villain. Focus on the mirror image of those paths.

Gotham PD. 10 episodes. Police pursuing org crime, some of their own are corrupt. Despite their efforts, crime is being punished. Walls are closing in on the corrupt officers, criminals are terrified. No Batman, just his effects. We start seeing him after the 1st season & film.

Superman gets help from the Legion of Superheroes against a time-traveling villain. Mon-El is rescued from the PZ and cured but decides to go to the future at the Legion’s prompting.

Superman/Boy

Superboy, sees a ship crash where his own did as a baby. Mon-El, around his age, is assumed to be his brother or relative. They grow close and save many people together. Mon faces lead poisoning, due to being Daxamite. Saved by being sent to Phantom Zone.

Animation universe is tied to the Movie universe. I’d want to see a Teen Titans series. Starting with the original (Robin, Speedy, Wonder Girl, Aqualad). This may be the first sighting of their mentors. Though I would still want to leave Batman shadowy for now.

I think we've hit peak Batman but not Batman Family. We need Bruce Wayne, rich and minor celebrity, and his expanding list of kids (adopted or not). How does the family deal with their extra-curricular activities?

When the DCU Batman story, I want to see less gritty. Not campy like West or even as stylized as Clooney. I want to see Batman fighting someone like Clayface, build in the Meta world with his detective skills. Also, if I see Marthas cheap-ass pearls falling down a drain again...

We don't need a lot of origin stories in the DCU. Superman/Batman are pretty baked in. Wonder Woman needs to be constantly updated for the times (which war?). Also I like approaching from the sidekicks angle (Teen Titans) then larger tentpole movies of the main heroes.

Movie 4
Superman. Not an origin but early in his career. Villain is Parasite. Luthor exists but is in a ‘pulling the strings’ mode. We learn that powers is not what makes someone heroic. Tease for Mon-El/Legion crossover.

What I am trying to do w/ MyDCU is to capture what I enjoy. DCAU showed us a fully realized world. Not starting with ours and adding characters in a gritty way. Let it be fun. Let it be a ride. #MyDCU

Batgirl. Most of the Gotham thinks Batman is a legend or a cryptic. Batgirl, blocked from police academy by her father. Inspired by Batman (that she is convinced is a person, she takes on persona as Batgirl. Villain is Killer Moth. Note: We don't see Batman, only his effect.

LoS2 - Legion is in its full capacity (Brainiac 5, Ultra-Lad etc) but lacks some focus. A Villain they foiled uses a time sphere to try and take away their inspiration (Superboy). Undercover in Kansas of the past. Superboy comes back with them but the past is still changed.

Legion of Superheroes - Origin story of LOS. Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy. After working together to foil an assassination attempt they form a team inspired by Superman and the heroes of the 21st century.

If I was rebooting the DCU I think I would start with a Legion of Superheroes movie, using their time travel to start introducing current era. @jamesgunn.bsky.social
