It was 70° Monday, it's snowing now.
Happy birthday, Rick.💜
Oh, that sounds fascinating!
These words come from my book “Alive with Spirits: The Path and Practice of Animistic Witchcraft” yet their point is woven throughout the way I approach and teach witchcraft.

And so, the work we do (and the work—the doing of witchcraft—is the point of it all) serves to further anchor us within physicality, allowing us to meet an incredibly variety of spirits on equal terms and to achieve inscendence—where we entangle ourselves with the Land, with life, with living.
4/
What is the obsession with love spells but a human need for connection and support? What is the relevance of prosperity magick but an effort to make our lives easier so that we are better able to appreciate the joy of living and being physically incarnate?
3/
We can see this entanglement directly translate to a focus on common aspects of human life and ways that we can make our lives better for ourselves.
2/
The goal of the witch is not to escape life, to attain godhead, or to transcend the physical world. It is inscendence, to become entangled with the Land and thoroughly embroiled in witchcraft.

Yeah, that is very much not a white man. 😅 He's Turkic and we're originally from Northern Mongolia.
Oh, that's fun! It makes sense to me that bells would be used, due to how prevalent they are throughout Asia and that there was some cultural sharing. We use them for protection against spirits.

Just me, a cup of tea, and the ancestors helping me work through this stack of pdf's.
What are you studying/researching lately?

Good morning from tea.

However you come to this work, whatever your reasons for seeking your ancestors, know that your efforts are supported and that connection with your ancestors is there for you.
Connection to family, to community, is your birthright.
5/
The abuse done to you and your family, that continues to be done for the sake of fracturing your family line, cannot take away your right to know the strength of your ancestors.
4/
You have a right to seek your ancestors.
Regardless of your family history and quality of relationships you have with living family, you have the right & ability to seek and know your ancestors.
The abuse of living family does not take away your right to know your ancestors, to know their love.
3/
A bond of connection persists. Our ancestors exist, conscious and aware, and they are able to take actions that affect the quality of our lives. They can aid us in our struggles, they can celebrate our success, they can guide us through challenges, they can support us in our pain.
2/
Ancestor work is the continuity of community. It is the acknowledgment that the dead are not gone but continue to exist, impacting us and being impacted by us.

Inside the witch is a library of feral spirits, a hundred books that need not be written for their knowledge is best told by tree root and hedge blossom. Her living practice is a curation of wonders and wild wisdom. – #EmilyCBanting, 1982 #WitchSky
That is so great. A very deserved feeling!
We talk about school, their families, their dating lives, their mental health. They all have my number. They text me. They call me mom.
So when one of them fucks up and there's nothing I can do, my heart feels nothing but pain.
I spent yesterday grieving.
I have a lot of kids. My kids have a lot of friends. And all of those babies are my babies when they're here.
They know they're safe. They will be fed. They have access to the washing machine, showers, a bed, quiet space; whatever they need.
