But it's not the 70s. Street lamps are much better. And I don't know why darkness outside would be bad for learning, but it being light only when they're in school can't be good for play, sports, etc.

This wasn't a slip-up. Someone had to find footage from MONTHS ago of Trump without a hat, and then someone had to add graphics to intentionally mislead viewers to think what they were seeing occurred yesterday. Fox is *still* misleading viewers—after paying $787.5 million for misleading viewers.
But they get more light to play outside after.
And not changing the time will avoid sleep disruption which will be better for everyone.
I think people will just get used to it. More darkness is just part the season.
