Skylar and Pike are perfect for each other. All in all this was an incredible book and is immediately going into my "to be read again (and again)" pile.

Yay! Ironically fake dating happens to be one of my least fav tropes, personally. 😅 I think bc it can often feel very contrived & needs lots of suspension of disbelief. But here I was intrigued by how IAIYH used it to demonstrate a REALLY vital bit of disability oppression AND community support.

Also thanks to @ellatholmes.bsky.social for reposting Sabina's recent article, or I might not have looked for IAIYH at the library. BRB, gonna go order my own copy at my local indie bookstore and tell them to stuff their disability section with as many copies as can possibly fit. Bc OMFG this BOOK 🥹

I have so much to say about It's All In Your Head, but none of them are coherent (see the aforementioned staying-up-to-4-am because it was too good and I just HAD to finish it). THIS BOOK IS A TREASURE. Finished @ 4am. Cried at least 5x just to feel so seen as a disabled + chronically ill person in a loving relationship. SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS BOOK. (And for the thorough CW, it def needed it.) But reading intense health care scenes from a disabled author hits SO differently!

Today's another rough health day. So I'm grateful to fellow chronically ill and disabled authors who centre this kind of life in their stories.

Sabina’s book is excellent—one of the most beautiful romance novels I’ve ever read. It’s on of those stories that stays in my head and my heart forever.
Her essay on disability in romance hit home for me. There IS room for our stories and for happily ever afters that include disability.
