Happy International Women's (and railways) Day!
The slipping in of the ol' Nicholas Cage face π
A black and white picture from around 1900. It shows a short passenger train at a station going away from the viewer, just behind and above there is another train passenger climbing up a bridge about 20 feet (6 meters) above. Further in the background a mind train crosses a high metal trestle.
I hate when model railroaders keep squeezing in more track and more bridges into a scene. So unprototypical.

A set-budget is nothing to a modeller at a show you know.
A gathering of resin 3D printed items. Main feature is the Ffestiniog Manning Wardle locomotive, test printed recently. Alongside tabletop miniatures Willowmere County, consisting of a Ferret, Fox and Duck all very much keen on the new engine.
Work continues onward for our next set of kits!
Here is a new test print for the NG7 / O-16.5 Gauge F&B Manning Wardle nearing completion with the Gadwall crew taking particular interest in it.
I think Lord Gadwall wants one... wrong gauge sir!

Public approved.
Everyone knows GWR locos are supposed to be green, so weβve had a bit of fun and put a different shade of green on the new 45xx to see how it looked.
We think weβll stick with liveries that Churchward would approve of going forwardβ¦

Nice work indeed and the colours look bang on π
Peter Sam stands at the head of the train. This year I swear I will build a layout to run these on.
Carriage no. 1 βAgnesβ, made from a Westcliff Works 3D print. No 2 and 3 (Ruth and Jemima) are made from the same print.
Carriage no. 5 βLucyβ is built from a Meridian Models kit. I bought the kit in 2015 along with several other identical ones, but after building I had no idea what to do with them. The decision to model the Skarloey Railway was long overdue. Also sheβs the only carriage of the set to have passengers fitted.
Brake van no. 4 βBeatriceβ was also built from a Meridian Models kit. I had planned to fit a guard on the balcony but the one I picked out didnβt fit.
One of my long term projects is nearing completion and has reached a point where I can share them; a complete set of Skarloey Railway carriages.
Still need to fit passengers and couplings but Iβm so happy with how these turned out.
Six little carriages lined up on my test plank. First class carriage no. 1 and Third class carriages no. 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
Close up of carriages 1 and 2. The vacuum pipes, grab rails and door handles are separate pieces.
A close up of carriage 7 with a brake van behind it. TVLR brake van no. 1 is another Robex print.
At the head of the train stands loco no. 1 βCelestiaβ, the flagship of the TVLR and the most appropriate choice to pull these carriages.
Another big project Iβve finally finished: the first batch of carriages for the Trottingham Vale Light Railway.
These 6 Ashbury carriages are made from Robex 3D prints and make for absolutely delightful little models. I canβt wait for them to eventually be rereleased.

Oxford Rail are back with two massive new locomotive announcements! π It is amazing to see a high spec Caledonian Pug and the legendary GWR Aberdare class joining the range. Fantastic work by the Oxford team - l especially seeing such a famous Welsh coal workhorse get the RTR treatment! π #ModelRail
Tonight's engine, the Neilson Industrial 0-4-0st saddle tank, NBR Class G/LNER Y9, Caledonian 264/611 Class, and Caledonian 262 class...
It's a Pug.
(I can add my AU lore for the engines if people want, but no idea if theres interest here)
B17 appreciation post
Man was sure I'd found out the Findhorn misnomer, but the Barrow Haematite Steel Co box appears to be another Neilson from looking at the mismatched shapes of the sticking out bit below the tank (in line with the cylinder). Still both must have been built pretty close to each other.
Riveting post!
We will be attending our first show of the season this Saturday, so we are getting the van packed and the samples ready.
Join us at the Tonbridge Model Railway Exhibition, where you can have a chat with our staff about all things Rapido and see all of our latest prototypes.
I'm sorry but that poor man's Funko makes this look like a Van Goch!
Well the big 40!

Wow didn't think he was just 33!
Our factory has dispatched some engineering samples of the upcoming OO Gauge Loch Class, and we canβt wait to see them.
We will be including some photos of this spectacularly Scottish loco in the next email newsletter. If you want to be the first to see them, make sure you sign up!

I've been sent this photo! I love seeing the kit painted up so well! I still haven't painted one myself yet... π (I'll get round to it soon) I'm so glad people like them, they've been selling so fast! Thank you!! π
A spur of the moment bit of inspiration (or insanity) lead me to making a Daisy just as the Rev. Awdry did! A hacksaw, knife and file was all it took! I didn't expect it to be so easy. I'll give the bodyshell a prime tomorrow, then I'll go looking for some green paint!
Pretty underwhelmed tbh. Not being much of a Sabrina fan didn't help but the Rowlf and Maya Rudolph's scenes were only ones that personally got much of a chuckle.
