I mean, he also said the HS Committee Chairman (Rand Paul) was a “freaking snake” and that he understood why “his neighbor did what he did” - aka beating Rand’s ass in his yard and breaking 6 of his ribs. For his part, Rand said that people should watch the hearing because it’ll be “interesting”

I...what? Some of the stuff in this article is genuinely mindblowing from a lack of planning perspective.

Yeah, but at least I do want him to be getting back in the groove. I uh, don't need Jaylen missing games.

As fun as this game is, it would be more fun if JB was still in it.

Classic, classic Tyler Ford ref show. When the replay was showed, JB was, of course, correct he has been pushed out of bounds.

Ref show. Tyler Ford, who sucks, blew the call and now Jaylen Brown gets thrown out.
Brown should know better, and needs to leave before this turns into a suspension, but this was set off by Ford being a crappy ref.

This looks excellent and, in my opinion, seems like it should be required viewing for anyone who wants to work in Democratic politics (though I’m sure there’s probably like $300M worth of lobbyists in DC who would disagree with me).

Well, the first three goals came out of the players doing big Looney Toons-style banana peel slips in their own box while trying to clear the ball so I prefer to think this more comes from some sort of a witch's curse .

I've met this type of guy a lot and while there is some slight regional variation, the conversation you have with them (whether in SF, DC, or NYC, and whether they're in VC, PE, mgmt consulting, or politics) is always the same: they can parrot their bosses words, but don't have an original thought

Anytime the anti-USAID folks come out of the woodwork, I find it to be one of the clearer examples of the dunning kruger effect on Bluesky. There are a lot of confidently wrong people who think they know the real truth about USAID, while actually having no idea what they're talking about.

I have met this guy (not this exact one, but this kind of guy) so many times in life. He could have gone into VC, mgmt consulting, PE, politics/lobbying, etc. but he'd be the exact same dude. Articulate enough to repeat back what his boss says to him, but there's nothing there beneath the surface.

Man, if that’s why Vance’s crew started talking about that, that would be quite insidious.

I have lived in New York (on and off) for 9 years, including several years in which I shopped semi-regularly at the Gowanus WF. I have never once considered shoplifting from there or elsewhere. That sounds like some "grew up rich" foolishness. We live in a society, people!

It strikes me that every member of the admin who goes on TV only provides domestically-targeted talking points. There’s no attempt at signaling to international parties (Iran or otherwise). I have to think other govts feel quite in the dark about our intentions or aims.

That Twitter account is fake FYI. There is no reporter by that name at Fox 5 and the account is full of made up stories/headlines.

That account appears to have 10 followers on Twitter (and I'm not seeing any Rob or Robert Banks who works for Fox 5 in DC) so I'm guessing that isn't real

Everybody Loves to Hate Dubai. Here’s Why They’re Wrong.
The city, under fire from Iran and assailed by critics, is a beacon of opportunity for people around the world.
What on earth?
(note: the author DID include one sentence admitting that "Some of the country’s foreign entanglements, particularly in the Sudan civil war, have earned widespread condemnation abroad.")

1000%. From my perch in the Biden WH, we did make a concerted effort to try and think outside the box on appointments (for instance my boss at USAID, who never thought she'd be an appointee and is one of the smartest people I've ever met), but there are a LOT of institutional obstacles endemic to DC
