there is definitely agreement from cops (which they would never admit in whole, except to serve the goals of a pro-cop politician or to get their budget increased) about how cops shouldn’t respond to mh calls, it should be social workers w/safety support. nypd cops agree on this!

we don’t need to defend reformist police policies just because they’re being offered by a candidate most aligned with our other values. he and you can afford to advocate abolition as-is, not distorted to soothe the angry palates of people who aren’t gunna vote for him anyway.
