I’m not talking here about sexual arousal per se - instead I’m speaking of the persona an individual takes on while in headspace. In fact, I think that headspace is at most only partially sexual but that’s its own debate.

The limitations used in pup play - being made to sleep in a cage, wear paws, etc. are play-acting. They have meaning because they contrast to the normal. An actual animal could not truly relate. And Scooby is always presented AS an animal, albeit one able to interact in a way dogs usually cannot

The extent to which Scooby-Doo has not impacted mainstream pup play should be studied. My theory: pup headspace requires BOTH awareness and rejection of a persons biophysical self. Scooby-Doo cannot relate to that process, as it explores the line between animal and man from a canine perspective.
