This is a sketch of the garden at the front of the studio. Includes twisted hazel which I really like to draw.

A couple of garden sketches from last summer, ink and watercolour. Already planting seeds for this year including some sunflowers which look great in a busy mixed flowerbed.

For our comic to appear in @swordsagainst.bsky.social, Jason Sholtis and I decided to work in the old "Marvel Method" where I wrote a plot, he draws the pages from the plot, then I script it (and letter). I did my own rendition of one of the principles, Hokus, though.

Semi abstract seascape and very difficult to describe! Blue-grey sky above a rough, thickly painted sea. Ochre and orange coast left of the composition, with blurred colours and lines suggesting land in the foreground. Limited palette of blues and ochres, with a bit of black and white.

A Brimstone butterfly nectaring on a Rhododendron in today’s sunshine #butterfly

Cambridge river scene in watercolour and dip pen with Indian ink on Fabriano Artistico paper (watermark just visible). A few ducks swimming and perched on the bridge. The blue sign says "Scudamores Boatyards". Very pleased to look back on the energy I could put into this painting while sitting on the bank of Laundress Green.
