The 'relief' line coming from a pressure group who, a few days earlier, managed to get the editor of the Daily Record to issue a grovelling apology for some coverage which referred to them as "anti-trans". Make it make sense.
Today The Sun has a front page story about how Beth Upton has quit the NHS, which they have framed as “a relief for female patients,” misgendering her throughout. You have to go to 3/4 down page 7 to read a three-line paragraph noting that Dr. Upton was cleared of any wrongdoing in the tribunal.

Good to see some Labour MPs showing a backbone, but the problems with these proposals on settlement aren't limited to being applied retrospectively: they also favour the well-off, discriminate vs disabled people, women & people with caring responsibilities and are probably unworkable

A LEADING Scottish newspaper editor has been suspended after he was arrested and charged in connection with “indecent online communications”. David McCann, the editor of The Times and The Sunday Times in Scotland, was charged after police officers “executed a search warrant at a property in the Edinburgh area” on November 25. McCann has been suspended from the business while he is subject to a “criminal investigation unrelated to his work”, a spokesperson for Times owner News UK said.
Depressing yet utterly unsurprising that it's taken two weeks for any media to report that the editor of The Times has been arrested and charged. Any newsroom trying to claim they had to wait for indictment doesn't seem to apply that logic to literally any other arrest/initial court appearance.
