If good live music happens, downtown will happen, with or without a drug addicted homeless crisis. Some of Vancouver's small to mid sized venues are near ground zero of opiate addiction. Just one city of many where live music coexists in drug addicted areas. Not the ideal, but better than giving up.

I had the pleasure of visiting Montevideo during an especially strong mid-summer heatwave in Feb 2023. 39C in the city and coast, 40's almost everywhere else. I will be back to visit again. Hopefully sooner than later, and hopefully not during a heatwave so I can experience Uruguay's interior. 🍷
