Early life serological profiles and the development of natural protective humoral immunity to Streptococcus pyogenes in a high burden setting Streptococcus pyogenes leads to 500,000 deaths annually; many due to rheumatic heart disease in low-income settings. Limited understanding of natural protective immunity to S. pyogenes hinders vaccine...

Streptococcus pyogenes pharyngitis elicits diverse antibody responses to key vaccine antigens influenced by the imprint of past infections Nature Communications - Streptococcus pyogenes is a deadly bacteria without a vaccine. Here, researchers measured antibodies in serum and saliva from a strep throat human challenge trial. Baseline...

This #StrepA paper was a LONG labour of love from a great team 😊 Equal first & senior author credits buried at the very end, so I want to highlight the critical contributions of Dr Hannah Frost & @njmoreland.bsky.social & Dr Danika Hill @precisionvaxlab.bsky.social rdcu.be/d2gBV

I don’t know her personally (you might!), but Marie Anne Chattaway at UKHSA is the head of the Salmonella reference unit within GBRU. I read her papers whenever I come across them and she is very research active. I’d definitely send her an email if you weren’t hankering for a break from salmonellae!
