If you have the opportunity then do try and visit Kamakura & Enoshima on the Kanagawa coast. About an hour from Tokyo by train and well worth a day trip.

Yes, Kamakura definitely worth a day out from Tokyo. Beautiful shrines and temples and some great places to eat.
Burned wood and furniture lies strewn on the floor. The sides of the cathedral are dark and smoke damaged
The newly restored cathedral is bright with light everywhere. The gold, white and black flooring is shining, where the debris once lay.
