I am LOVING the Garth Ennis reboot of "Johnny Red" in the collection of "The Hurricane"! Keith Burns's art is awesome, and the alternate issue splash pages are gorgeous too. Only catch is a blonde Scouser with a Garth Ennis tone makes me picture John Constantine in the cockpit 😂

Sounds like a good decision! I had a long leave & came back because I feared being gone 'too long' and losing my way...but in reality it was too soon and it took me another few months of flailing before I was able to work properly again. Trust your instincts, best wishes :)

Project Hail Mary is fabulous & my go-to book for library patrons who say 'I've never read Sci-Fi, what can you suggest?' It's the perfect soft entry to sci-fi since it's really a book about humanity and generosity and love. I really really hope the movie does that justice :)

I agree and go a little further on the writing. Writing forces you to make decisions in your thinking. Forces you to decide between competing ideas in your mind.
Since it's recommended here then perhaps I need to give the Coker book another try; read it a few years ago and wasn't particularly engaged, let alone convinced.
I could never be a journalist or a time-sensitive analyst; the CRINGE factor means I cannot listen to live speakers when what they're saying is excruciatingly embarrassing in every way.
This kind of thing should need to get a heritage assessment and exemption
