Tonight is my first lecture on Norse mythology for UCC's Adults Continuing Education Certificate in Mythology. I've really enjoyed prepping for this class and I am looking forward to hearing their thoughts on creation myths. She's in her lecturing era. πŸ’…πŸ»πŸŽ‰ #MedievalSky

Proud and excited to present ApardjΓ³n's latest special volume. Connections and the Church in Late Norse Scotland is a fantastic exploration of the influences on Norse Scotland at the time of Bishop Adam. Incredible work from our guest editors and contributing authors. πŸ’ͺ🏻 #MedievalSky

I started my new year reading with some magnificent Welsh folk horror. It follows Carwyn and Rhian, dealing with a brutal year in their isolated sheep farm. When Carwyn discovers a stone circle on their land, he becomes obsessed - while his wife Rhian, watches her husband become a stranger. #BookSky

Naomi Mitchison's Travel Light is being republished in March as a Virago Modern Classic. She weaves Norse myth into a fun adventure that touches on lessons of greed. I really enjoyed reading this! #BookSky #MedievalSky

A hardback copy of The Wolf and his King by Finn Longman. The cover is colourful, a blue background with stars. A gold crown in the forefront with a wolf standing over it.

Published a short piece in 'The Conversation' about Kash Patel's use of the white-supremacist dog whistle 'see you in Valhalla'. For my uncensored feelings on the subject, please just see the image below.

Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is all show and little substance – review Jacob Elordi is a very sympathetic monster in this visually stunning but thematically lacking film, which co-stars Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth

It's a weird and embarrassing hill to die on, that your reason for thinking the new Frankenstein is bad is because it's faithful to the novel? Jesus wept.

A blue paperback book called The House of Wolf by Tony Robinson. It has the outline of a wolf in black and the title is written in gold.

This small medieval church (built circa 1300) in Monkstown became a graveyard in the 1650s, when the first owners of Monkstown Castle died. It's now abandoned but it's a great spot for some peace in the evenings. #SpeirGorm #HistorySky #MedievalSky
