The SAVE America Act is a voter suppression scam. It would take away the rights of working people to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
The Senate must reject this bill.
We are all very tired of it (or at least I am), but pretending itβs gone is not going to help anyone stay healthy. Lots of us are tired of hearing about it (and honestly, weβre tired of talking about it), but we keep talking about it because we know how devastating it can be, weβve met people whose lives are forever changed for the worse because of getting COVID-19, and lots of people who are now living with Long COVID say they wish they had known how bad it could be. So weβll probably keep talking about it, because we want you to be healthy and happy, and even if you are tired of it (thatβs fair), we hope you take some steps to protect yourself and others so you can all live long, healthy lives.
In other words, weβre know youβre tired of hearing about COVID-19. Weβre tired of hearing about it too. But ignoring it does not help it to go away, so please continue to take protect your health.
Things we want people to know. 6 years after the start* of the COVID-19 pandemic. *The day the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. This was not the date of the first case.
Itβs not just a cold. We wish it were just a cold. We would not keep talking about it if so. Since 2020, doctors, scientists, and millions of people who have had COVID-19 have learned that it can cause permanent damage to multiple organ systems within your body, leave you disabled and unable to do the things you love, and significantly harm your quality of life. A cold cannot disable or kill you the way COVID-19 can.
We know a lot more about prevention than we did back then. We all remember when we thought maybe weβd be ok as long as we were 6 feet away from sick people; that masks worked one way but not the other; and more. But just like with all new viruses and scientific study, we learned more as there was more time to study and observe, and we now know that wearing masks and keeping cleaner air are key to protecting ourselves and others. Now that we know better, we can (and should) better protect ourselves and others.
We understand the frustration about vaccines, but they are still extremely important. We all remember when vaccines were first made available, and it wouldβve been great if that was the end of the pandemic. It wasnβt. And a lot of people have gotten frustrated and have given up on vaccination. Itβs true, the virus that causes COVID-19 changes (which is why, like the annual flu shot, we need to get updated COVID-19 vaccines each year), and the vaccines we have now will not eliminate COVID-19 on their own. But they are still very effective at preventing serious illness and death, so even though they are not the one quick solution to the pandemic we all wish they were, they are still extremely important, and we should all stay up to date.
This week marked the anniversary of the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Weβve summarized our thoughts a bit below, but tl;dr: Unfortunately, COVID-19 is still with us, & although we may be tired of hearing about it, itβs extremely important to continue to take steps to protect ourselves & others.

President Obama had a deal with Iran that trump ripped up without replacing, and now we're in an unnecessary war with Iran that he started without Congress, because he's a small, petty, envious punk.
In case youβre just waking up, the U.S. has teamed up with Israel overnight to start an illegal war of regime change, apparently on a presidential whim with no involvement of Congress, and they are already committing horrific atrocities.

As I say here, there is no scientific justification to revoke the engagement finding. In fact, over the last 15+ yrs, the evidence of how climate change affects our health has only grown. Higher risk of allergies, dementia, fertility, heart disease, and death: thatβs whatβs on the line. @nature.org

We get it, really. Itβs not fun having to choose whether to get a thing you heard might harm you to avoid a thing thatβs much more likely to harm you. But thereβs not a risk-free way to live; all vitamins, medications, vaccines, and leaving your home have a risk of side effects, so: The best choice for your family is to do what is very low risk and highly effective (vaccination) to protect you from what is a much higher risk (preventable illnesses). Vaccines have been studied for generations and are continuously reviewed to be sure they are safe and effective. If you can get vaccinated (not too young, no vaccine allergies or disqualifying health conditions, etc.): Please get vaccinated, and please vaccinate your kids.
In other words: Weβd love for there to be a 100% risk-free way to live life, but since thereβs not, the best thing you can do is make the low-risk, highly effective choice to protect yourself and others by getting vaccinated.
