9 is the one I actually beat back in the dayβit's good! I got very close with 11 but couldn't manage to bring myself to cross the final finish line in the end.
What I'm most excited about in 7R is that it's been cut down and, well, reimagined, to address its reputation for being overlong.
Man, the Dragon Quest VII Reimagined demo is actively charming me in a way that is unusual for games these days.
Very quickly went from "buying eventually to put on the pile of Dragon Quests I'll never muster the patience to play" to a day 1 purchase.

tl;dr The narrative team at Funcom is absolutely killing it, and if you haven't played the Fremen questlines, you're missing out on some of the best writing our industry has right now. Don't sleep on it.

Dune: Awakening releases today. I've been on the project for three and a half years.
Video games, somehow, just keep getting harder and harder to make.
But I think we landed this one. There has never been a game quite like it before.
On the one hand, congrats, on the other hand, 100k is criminally low for one of the best narrative games ever created, so I hope for a continued tail on this one. Literally every thread about it is people saying they didn't know of it and were blown away. Play it!

Done with the main+extended story in Xenoblade X after 107 hours, time to unmute a bunch of keywords.
Easily the worst game in the franchise, which means it's still a very strong 8/10 and potential GotY contender.

Some will find that its CRPG roots and superficial similarities to TES hurt itβit deliberately opts out of any pseudo immersive sim aspects in favor of a more streamlined questing experience. It is a *good* experience, with the right expectations.
This is like an optical illusion. Out of the corner of my eye I can catch "soul" but when I actually look at it it goes back to rarohire.

I don't think it's discussed nearly as much as it should be that when Mega64's transfarring promo was dubbed into Japanese, Konami got Mr. Japanese Solid Snake himself, Akio Otsuka, to dub Rocco and it'll never not be the funniest thing to hear a voice I now associate with car ads coming out of him.
