BREAKING: HB 15, the Texas police record secrecy bill, is dead.
House Speaker Dustin Burrows said he won't call the bill before the #txlege special session ends after the state Senate stripped all House amendments from the bill, including a carveout for Uvalde families. Author confirmed it's dead.
Tonight, the Texas Senate is debating the latest version of the bill meant to ban mailing abortion pills into Texas.
If the Senate OKs the bill, it heads to Abbott’s desk. Some abortion opponents call it a model to stop telehealth abortions, which have helped thousands get around state bans.
