Ocean fish swimming among microplastics
Road runoff outfalls mapped on the Watershed Pollution Map
The single largest source of microplastics in the ocean is road runoff pollution. Microplastics, mainly from car tyres, are washed off our roads into storm drains, into rivers, out to sea, every time it rains. 🧵
What can turtles tell us about noise in the ocean? In our new paper in Biological Conservation, leatherback 🐢 collect underwater sound data to map natural and human noise in the soundscape facing critical nesting beaches 🚢🔊
