Pertussis - better known as “whooping cough” or “100 day cough” - is no joke. It can be terrifyingly fatal for small children (they just stop breathing without warning). When it’s not fatal, it can mean 100 days of coughing fits so severe that rib fractures are common.

It is vaccine preventable.

Attempting to find peace this weekend after the rage, sadness, and bewilderment of the past week. (Wishing this was my current view.) After that - baby steps. Find the good. Contribute to the community. Champion truth. Easier said than done, but we have to try.

Let’s hope this does not also become The Bad Place.
