A good friend thinned out his strawberry beds and gifted us some plants. We are about to have our first fresh strawberry!
We never paid over the $7.99. We still heat the house and water with natural gas. The next step will be converting those to electric. Once that happens, the electric bill should remain $7.99 a month for everything. Note that at the end of March every year, our extra, unused credits are zeroed out.
It has been a year since the solar panels were connected. For that year, we paid $7.99 a month to be connected to the grid. We dump all excess electricity onto the grid earning credits. Then, when the panels aren't generating, we pull power off the grid. We made by FAR more power than we used.
The first pic is our previous mailbox situation. They were installed on that tree stump when we bought the house. The stump failed. Together with the neighbors, we replaced it with picture 2.
