It's really gotten ridiculously depressing that creatives as a whole are just taken advantage of, disregarded, envied, and got treated horribly by the very platforms that used to be fair to us in the past.

Enabling this taunts other people to be predatory and cruel. Disappointed but not surprised.

also need to remind folks who don't use this place often that since there is no algo you gotta actively engage here and post and repost your stuff and use tags! there is no punishment for it and you benefit way more! gotta un learn what twitter conditioned in you!

Reasons to use alt text for art:

-Helps blind people (YAY)

-Boosts your post. Feeds that pick up "Mermaid" will include a post that says "A mermaid lays on a rock" in alt even if actual post caption doesn't mention the word

-alt says 'art', it counts as #art

-Some ppl only repost art w/ alt text

Ahh so if you’re new to Bluesky and you wanna grow here, I have a few tips:

1. USE ALT TEXT! This is very important!!!

2. Engage with the Bluesky community, don’t just post only!

3. Use hashtags, you don’t get shadow ban for using them!

4. Support other artists & join artshares!
