United States Completes WHO Withdrawal WASHINGTON — January 22, 2026 — The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of State today announced the United States’ completion of its withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO) due to the organization's mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic that arose out of Wuhan, China, its failure to adopt urgently needed reforms, and its inability to demonstrate independence from the inappropriate political influence of WHO member states.
The United States has officially withdrawn from the World Health Organization.
This is a shameful move that puts both Americans and people all over the world at greater risk from disease outbreaks, which require international collaboration to contain.

If the wizard you're fighting starts reciting a rhyming couplet, you need to get out of there yesterday. You need to change your identity and hide your soul in a pin in a rabbit in a chest on an island that only appears once every three months and even then only to a third son, because any spell that rhymes will curse you, your dog, your descendants, and will somehow work its way backwards through time to curse your ancestors. shygaladriel: What if that rhyming couplet is in Latin? thestuffedalligator: I've gotten a couple comments on these lines, so just to be clear: it's not the Latin that's the problem. If the wizard has a rhyming couplet in Latin, it's still going to turn you and everyone else in the wizard's line of sight into wallpaper. It's that short Latin magic words like "Fulminus" or "Ventus" or "Fuego" are usually associated with quick and dirty evocation spells, the magical equivalent of a shotgun: dangerous, but inaccurate and clumsy. Dodge out of the way of that wizard's fireball and you can punch them in their stupid Latin mouth. Any spell that rhymes takes longer to cast, but has so much more magic behind the words. It doesn't matter if the rhyme is Latin or English - if it rhymes, your options are to run or pray.
