Pierre Poilievre’s great reset The leader of the Conservative Party of Canada is rolling out a kinder and gentler version of himself. But can he stick to the script, or will he revert to his political instincts?

Again I agree with Max Fawcett.

“And for all the political costuming that his new campaign manager has convinced him to wear, he’s still the same ideologically driven creature underneath it all.”

Fossil fuels will be collateral damage in Trump’s war on Iran Canada's oil and gas industry and the politicians in its thrall will use the US attack on Iran as a justification for more pipelines. In reality, it will actually erode the economic case for them.

I agree with Max Fawcett’s take on this one! Yes Trump’s war in the middle east will cause many to say Canada’s LNG will be in demand but there is a BIG but and that is that much of the world is marching quickly towards renewables!

Doug Ford’s government said traffic officers could help replace banned speed cameras. Three months later, here’s what Toronto police say Most of the 150 speed camera locations in Toronto are not eligible for traffic-calming infrastructure.

Classic.
Big Dumb Doug Ford banned speed cameras, promising better solutions.
None have appeared.
Speedsters will get away with it just like they did pre-cameras.
More pedestrians will die.

Mark Carney just picked his lane on climate change For all the recent talk about pipelines, it's clear that Mark Carney's economic strategy revolves around turning Canada into one of the world's leading electro-states.

The SAVE America Act is a voter suppression bill looking for a problem that doesn't exist.

The goal is to sow confusion and make it harder to vote.

The SAVE Act would require Americans to show a passport or birth certificate in person just to register to vote.

Millions of Americans don’t have access to these documents. This is voter suppression, plain and simple.

Call your senators to urge them to vote no: (202) 224-3121

You can't prove received wisdom wrong if you don't try... and you've got to give China credit for not being afraid to try. A step on the way to serious reduction of shipping emissions by 2050? Or an expensive experiment with niche coastal uses? Time will tell!

Justin Trudeau never killed the oil and gas industry The former prime minister's supposed hostility towards Alberta's defining industry is an article of faith among Canadian Conservatives. The facts tell a much different story.

Hey Albertans & in fact all Conservatives, please read this article by the National Observer’s Max Fawcett. It clearly & factually shows Alberta’s Oil and Gas industry has been significantly boasted by the Liberal Federal government over the past decade.

Infographic titled “Alberta’s Tale of Two Grievances,” comparing Premier Danielle Smith’s contrasting responses to two groups. Left column: “The Million Separatists,” with a photo of Smith and text quoting her saying she will not “demonize or marginalize” separatist supporters because they have legitimate grievances. The actions listed include granting them political validation and refusing to condemn meetings with U.S. State Department officials. Message: “Your feelings are valid; let’s talk.”

Right column: “Trans Youth & Teachers,” with another photo of Smith and text stating she is using the Notwithstanding Clause to proactively silence grievances before they can reach a courtroom. Actions listed include using Section 33 to override the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and blocking legal challenges in advance. Message: “Your rights are a nuisance; let’s override them.”

Bottom banner reads: “In Alberta, ‘Freedom’ is for those who want to leave Canada, but not for those who want to use the Canadian Charter,” with the word “Freedom” highlighted in gold.

Danielle Smith won’t “demonize” separatists courting foreign support — she validates them from the highest office. But trans youth and teachers? She reaches for the Notwithstanding Clause to silence them before they ever see a courtroom. Freedom, UCP-style. #ABpoli #ABleg #CDNpoli #TransRights
