UK might board shadow fleet tankers. However, just making passage through the English Channel or the Gibraltar Strait (also controlled by the UK) more difficult by lengthy inspections of cargo and insurance documents, could also be effective in cutting off supplies.

Thanks! Of course, boats that are following the border to be out of the reporting area seem very sketchy?

13/ After passing the English Channel, most boats continue through the Gibraltar Strait, heading for the Suez Channel. However, a few takes the longer route to Asia around Africa, or go directly to customers in Africa and South America, not going through Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Sea.

Do you have a watchlist, ships that have not been sanctioned but probably are part of the Russian shadow fleet?

πŸ”Ž Since July, the oil tanker LEO II has been circling aimlessly off the coast of Cyprus πŸ‡¨πŸ‡Ύ.

Commercial delay? Technical issue?

Neither: she’s playing a key role in bypassing sanctions on Russian oil πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί, all while appearing to stand still.

Let’s break it down 🧡
