I've tried combing through wikis and looking up "HTF manga" but have had results only in fancomics (which I'm not going to rule out). I just want a source!
They could totally just be references to the characters in another manga but considering how popular HTF is/was in japan I would not be shocked if there was a mini series made. I mainly want to know because the sniffles in this is really gd cute

Sniffles is my favorite character (ironic considering Sniffles tends to have the worst deaths that I'm very squicked out by). I hc Sniffles as transfemme and will typically refer to her by She/Her pronouns! I have my own takes on a lot of the characters. (also hense the user)
