Great take!

PS: And as always, I will never forget Sleepy Time, heh. :3 Unless you don’t want anyone to bring up that one anymore, then I won’t. Not bringing it up as a joke, I feel like it had soul and supports your point. Flash games were surely an era of freedom and self expression.

A great take. As an additional more obvious take I’ll add a practicing psychotherapists ( @eurobrady.bsky.social ) on can playing games heal (yes, of course, but it adds value to get the thought pattern of a mental health specialist leading to that)

Seated Puppy by Izumi Sukeyuki
This endearing boxwood carving by the Meiji-period artist Izumi Sukeyuki (1838–1918) depicts a plump, seated puppy with a charmingly soulful expression. The figure is carved with exceptional detail, showcasing the artist's mastery of the medium; the puppy's fur is rendered with thousands of fine, textured lines that give the wood a soft, tactile appearance. Its large, dark eyes are inlaid, creating a lifelike gaze as it looks slightly upward.

A distinctive feature of the sculpture is the braided rope or strap that the puppy holds firmly in its mouth, which loops over its back and appears to be attached to a large, heavy sack resting against its side. The warm, dark patina of the boxwood highlights the smooth contours of the puppy's body and the intricate knots of the rope. This work is a wonderful example of netsuke or small-scale Japanese sculpture, capturing a moment of quiet, playful determination with both technical precision and deep character.

Today during my stupid walk for my stupid mental and physical health, I witnessed how a 2 week old rat buck ate so well, that his head got stuck in his wooden house window. I should note, that rats are usually nimble enough not to get into this kind of trouble, but this one succeeded!

The creator of ChatGPT is named "Altman," as in "alternative to human" and he leads OpenAl, which is completely closed.

His main opponent is the company Anthropic, meaning "human-centered" is led by "Amodei," as in "loves gods".

Then there's "Gemini," meaning "two-faced," from a company that said that it will do no evil.

Brilliant work as always Kojima!

I would've loved to not have a sieve for memory right now, I remember it being very impressive and reinforcing that pricing down (more often than not, and in that climate) resulted in magniudes of actual revenue, not just sales!

Interesting trivia - if I remember correctly (and this was like in 2009), the first ever Steam game to be sold at like 20% the price resulted in 100x money revenue from the test sale. Or it might have been a free weekend? I vaguely recall it being an Unreal series game and that it was a first case.

I did know about the bears though, because of the well documented case of a polar expedition eating the liver of a polar bear, which contains like 10 000x the amount of vitamin A humans can process. Needless to say, most lost their skin and died

You have to see this movie: High fashion Estonian scifi mystery based on a book by the Strugatsky brothers (Roadside Picnic/Stalker), incredible sound track, gorgeous set design. So glad this is getting a release. Up there with Vlčí bouda in terms of lesser-known gems.

In terms of what cures are being lost:

- Epstein-Barr virus is perhaps the major trigger for multiple sclerosis
- herpes simplex virus causes cold sores, genital herpes, infections in babies, deadly meningitis
- shingles virus causes an intensely painful disease

This is the problem I have with publishers right now. Every one I've spoken with lately has basically gone "your game needs to be finished and you need to be a guaranteed success before it even gets to us."

They want you to spend millions, and they want 40-50% minimum to barely market your game.
