It's Giving Tuesday at the VGHF! We've had an incredible 2025, but we need your help to make sure we can continue doing our charitable work in 2026 and beyond. We just launched our annual Winter Fundraiser campaign, please give if you're able (and share this post!). http://gamehistory.org/donate

Mr. Domino WIND CHIMES
I'm getting this even after buying the gold package to have everything on a card for Switch. Oops! Is this the last DLC for this one? Or are further events in the works? I presume it's a "never say never situation" but would love to know.
RIP, Joe Byrd, mastermind behind two mind-bending classics: The United States Of America (1968) + Joe Byrd And The Field Hippies' The American Metaphysical Circus (1969). Get 'em both in all formats. He was true one-off, loved by Broadcast, Portishead, & many others.

Tips for streaming
I can't say everyone growing up played Final Fantasy VI/III, but I knew several friends who did. And I definitely played Secret of Mana etc. When I first emulated games in the late 90s, it definitely includes games like the SNES Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger.
Oddly, this image trace from an ad from around 2002. Mr. Domino came out in like 2002 so wtf
It does. Just not against enemies that deal two damage.
what I am more urked about is having to re-enter boss rooms and sometimes forced to re-fight a boss when sometimes you can sneak your beads back. That's a cruel choice.
It has little function in the boss, I agree. But it does help nearly all other actions in the game. I think just saying that the extra health is flawed because it doesn't work well against a tough boss is like saying cough syrup doesn't work because it didn't cure my headache. It has other merits.
Yep. I think there's a balance between difficult, plus difficult plus fun. Guessing a number between 1 and 100 with no hints isn't much fun and hard. Beating something that Wallops you initially and eventually learning how to have a David and Goliath moment with it is fun.
Honestly I saw someone use the fly anywhere Celeste built in helping and it made it harder. Because it's mostly linear paths to the end, they just got lost in a maze of rooms not knowing where to go.
going to disagree. Even if you had two or more health, the bosses would still be hard. The little health isnt to make bosses easier, it's to make the rest, easier (i.e: travelling, exploring, regular enemies) as more exploring = more experience with the game to be able to move when you gotta!

What streaming felt like
Brushing up on the basics.
Unelated (not currently interested in unfollowing) but I find it very hard to unfollow/mute someone unless I found them really upsetting. It just feels like hanging up mid-convo or shutting a door on them.
