I know it’s easier to melt butter in the microwave. But i prefer to use this little pot from my Babka’s kitchen.

Partner and I are at the Drake in Canmore. Powerhouze live! We have Cut Loose and Kicked off the Sunday Shoes. Ready for Cliopalooza 2024!
I recall a supervisory meeting at her home the day the UTP box of Domestic Goods arrived. She proudly explained the politics of the cover and fretted that a white cover might stain. Then said something like “You must think I’m silly.” I think of this when I get these boxes of books and am as giddy.
Colleagues at the Faculties of Law at U of A and U of C posted this open letter on ABlawg today. ablawg.ca/2024/05/14/a...
Seems ironic today.
Future rhubarb squares! A welcome sight after all of the (welcome and needed) early spring snow!
Added bonus to this spring snow that we need: the snowduck brigade is back at work at the University of Calgary!
Excited to the at The Grand to Hear Suzette Mahr, Sage Matthieu, Cheryl Foggo and others discuss Black history and activism.
Inspired by @mhayday.bsky.social I decided to try my hand at macrons. Let’s just say they are less photographable.
More bird fun at UCalgary. A group of students is making snow ducks!

I’m reading Emma Donahue’s Learned by Heart. Highly recommend
Poor Jett. It’s a busy time. So I have some sympathy for her lying on lecture notes as I prepare a PowerPoint because she requires love and attention.
Today’s UCP-calming. Rice is pudding.
UCP-rage-management cabbage rolling!
With the recent return of polar bears to the Calgary Zoo, George Colpitts looks back at hard lessons learned in the 1970s, raising questions as to whether this recent development is a good idea.

A student left origami frogs made from the exam and crib sheet in the blue book. I shoal keep them as marking mascots!
Prioritizing!
There’s certainly no management of rage anymore!
Ready for exams!
This wooden spoon is the first kitchen tool I bought. A key ingredient to so many soups & stews.
Great to see UCalgary students donning the Carré rouge.
Sharing some Congress nostalgia. I miss the really useful canvass bags. They held a lot of books. And many groceries over the years. This was the Congress Sharon Weaver stayed at the family farm and we drove to London.

Update on the peace crane flock in my grad class. The student sign Sean Lake has been replaced with spin introducing Papa Crane. The students wonder where Mama is.
Someone is leaving a treat in the seminar room I teach in. One or two new cranes join the flock every week.
We came home from dinner out with a clear message that the wet food should have been served before Partner picked me up at the c-train after work:
