Bookstores, comic shops, and libraries place books on shelves with their covers facing out because we are more likely to peruse a book if we can see its cover.
I learned of Combs & Eakettβs *Trans History: From Ancient Times to the Present Day* only b/c it was displayed that way.
My review here:
Hi Rob,
Thank you so much!! Wow, what an amazing review! Andrew and I were so stoked to read it and so glad you got so much out of the book.
(Quick note-- the aeakett tagged below is actually someone else! Andrew isn't really on social media.)
Thank you! β₯οΈ

An image of the cover of the bonus comic Mutemmenu's Mummy. It says "Mutemmenu's Mummy by Alex Combs and Andrew Eakett" There is a black and white drawing of the mummy's face below the writing.
A sample page from the bonus comic "Mutemmenu's Mummy". Panel 1: "In the late 1800s A mummified body was donated to the British museum. Writing on the sarcophagus identified the remains as that of a priestess named Mutemmenu." A drawing of the mummy and the sarcophagus. Panel 2: "The body was wrapped in an incredibly intricate and elaborate way and experts included that she was a high status person and likely also a dancer." Drawings of the notable details of the mummification process noting the "Individually wrapped fingers, lotus flowers on knees, and gold-plated nipples, fingers and toes"
If you've pre-ordered Trans History: From Ancient Times to the Present Day, make sure to enter the giveaway. You'll receive a digital bonus comic that didn't make the final cut of the book, and be entered in a raffle to win one of 10 mini-portrait paintings (hand painted by me!) β₯οΈ
