They really shouldn't but grocers will do anything to save having to throw out produce. Just so you inow, any of the food thats been cut up and put into plastic single serving packaging is grocers trying to save produce that is going off. We cut the bad stuff off and repackage it.
It's why I figure they've been freezing them to preserve them. Absolutely an American product.

What produce have Canadians not been buying? American. Where are most avocados coming from...California. They aren't throwing them away, they freeze them, then put them out. I'm not going to argue. I've both worked in grocery stores and dealt with avocados that have gone brown in restaurants.
Stores freeze produce they aren't selling, take it out of freezer, the product defrosts and the oxygenated avocado browns.
Sounds like they have been taking out frozen ones. At the Mexican cantina I worked at that happened.
