The Sisters of Mercy released 'No Time To Cry' the second single from their debut album 'First And Last And Always' on this day in 1985 (I still bemoan the loss of my copy on vinyl)

We just want it to be 2009 forever so we could do all of this on Myspace alone!
It seems our choice to leave X has been largely positively received! Thank you to all our new followers for finding us here. π
Wishing you a fabulous Friday 13th!
Just to let you all know, the World Goth Day X account as of now, has been deactivated. We exist only here on Bluesky, Facebook (www.facebook.com/worldgothday...) and of course our official website (worldgothday.com).

Good morning.
Happy Birthday to Carl McCoy, of #FieldsOfTheNephilim - born 15 January 1963
By the way, I'm doing my best to follow you all back as soon as I can, so if I missed your follow, let me know!
Since it's looking likely that access to the deep-fake SA site known as X could be banned in the UK, we take this opportunity to advise you we'll ONLY be on Facebook & Bluesky.
WGD's X account will never stop being our *official* one, but it will stop being used.
We cannot believe how absolutely adorable this is...
Happy New Year, my goth lovelies!
We hope you're all having a great Christmas! What did Santa get you this year? New Rocks? Fishnets? Full human skeleton?
Happy Thanksgiving to our American fan base
Remembering both Sophie and Sylvia Lancaster born on this day and reminding you of the excellent work @sophiecharity.bsky.social does in their memory
So is it just me or is this what you'd think of as a Christmas album, given its Winter vibe?
Released on this day 41 years ago; 'Treasure' is a favourite Cocteau Twins album of mine, in no small part due to the heavy use of the LinnDrum 'rock kit' patch which featured a sample of John Bonham's famous snare sound from 'When The Levee Breaks' #musicnerd #shoegaze #goth #indie #mybackhurts
Released on this day 39 years ago. How's your lower back?
Sharing for awareness, be grateful if you could do the same and if you arenβt give them a follow too!
Good evening sir/madam, can we interest you in a little MIRANDA SEX GARDEN GIG IN WHITBY THIS FRIDAY??? ππ€π

Fields Of The Nephilim will soon be embarking on their UK tour, and I'll be seeing them this Saturday in Birmingham!
I won't ask who else is going to see them, but who's going to stand in the same room as them while they perform behind inpenetrably dense fog?

Released 35 years ago today...
I remember travelling down to Wembley to see them perform on their Vision Thing tour, that felt far too long ago.
The Glass House Museum have got a cracking Halloween event at The Met Lounge & Ballroom in Whitby lined up.
We're supporting the legendary Miranda Sex Garden alongside Iamwarface

Released on this day in 1983. It might have sounded like it was recorded in a cave but that was the sheer beauty of it. You know you're old when you can still taste the smoke machine in the back of your throat from the first time you heard this.
There's a fantastic event called Black Pilgrimage coming up soon in Leeds UK that some of you might be interested in.

It's practically my duty to share this incredibly wholesome photo with you of @visionvideoband.bsky.social taken by Chris Cardi.
It's a snapshot of everything we wish the goth community to be. Have a great weekend! π¦
