A man wakes up at sunrise he seems excited with a big smile on his face. In the next panel he jumps out of bed shouting "Today's my birthday!" The following frame is death, holding his scythe, moving a black bead across an abacus to count another year.

A bloody melee with merciless stabbing, impalements, and eye-gouging. Flashback to “Earlier:” A king announces that his soldiers are to withdraw, for he has received a written apology from the enemy via messenger bird. The parchment is unfurled to disappointment however. What appeared to say “I’m sorry” is revealed to say “I’m sorry you feel that way”.
