Peaceful community movement and solidarity can work.

Scotland is by no means perfect, but Kenmure Street shows there's lot of us who try to make the country safe for immigration and asylum.

I hope it continues to grow and spread <3.

The protest at Kenmure Street (a street in Glasgow, Scotland) was spontaneous peaceful action to prevent two Indian men from being removed in a dawn raid on their home and deported.

It remained peaceful all day, and most importantly it worked, forcing the Immigration Officers to leave.

Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

I just stumbled again on a quote from Welcome to Night Vale (the episode Ferral Dogs) - and once again it is incredibly poetic when you least expect it.
This quote resonated today.

This "conflicting accounts" narrative of the BBC's is a much bigger problem than they seem to think.

The huge issue is not false balance - it's that they're NOT reporting the biggest story of today: the fact the US Government is lying about its own forces killing a US citizen.
