Without being anchored in the whole counsel of God, we drift with the cultural tide that sometimes dehumanizes and destroys people made in God’s image.

Excited to (finally) jump into this by @ehmcgowin.bsky.social
I'm no expert on Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, but I know what Doug Wilson (and other "evangelicals") teach about slavery. My award-winning @ivpress.bsky.social book Ownership shows where this came from and why we are seeing it reappear
I’ve read a lot about technology and teens - and this is so wild… Talked to some young people I know and it aligns with what they told me.
Fascinating book: The Tech Exit by Clare Morell
Fun that my 2023 article "Theologically Informed Pedagogical Solutions to the ChatGPT ‘Problem’" showed up here:

Nice concise review of my @ivpress.bsky.social book Ownership by Mary Li Ma in the CRC magazine The Banner

How should we think about failed Christian leaders?
I had a great time today talking with Truth Over Tribe about my @ivpress.bsky.social book Ownership
Congrats 🎉
PS This might make elevator conversations go better, "The Kidd Rule"
Apprieciate @thomasskidd.bsky.social guide to writing book reviews: 1) distillation of content 2) explanation of argument 3) commentary on what the argument might miss or neglect. Kidd explains the nuances of each of these in ways I wish I had known earlier

Introduced my historical theology students at GCU to Know the Theologians today. Thanks @jpowellmcnutt.bsky.social and David McNutt for writing it 😀
I’ll be preaching on Feb 16 at my church Christ Church Anglican at 800am and 1030am. Come join us!… but don’t boo if my sermon ain’t good 😉
This weekend on our retreat I introduced college students to Rich Mullins songs and they now love them. That’s a win.
Great week teaching Christology and Soteriology to Young Life staff at Windy Gap with some help from @emccarth.bsky.social It was also very very 🥶
Certainly worth listening to that speaker 👀
Christianity Today’s review of my book was one of their top articles this year…

You’re crushing it Caleb
Merry Christmas from the McGevers 🎄
Good point. Yes, perhaps I am more aware because of my research for my recent book, Ownership. Moss’s book reaches a huge audience, I’m glad it is out there.
Good review. I went to her panel on the book at SBL. I, like you, don’t have too many quips with she did write. I do think her point is too drawn out and obvious. What would have been exceptional (sadly) is if the NT wasn’t written down by enslaved people.
Happy to see my @ivpress.bsky.social book Ownership at the Tempe location of the best bookstore in town, Changing Hands
Well, it worked GREAT for for Jenson's ST vol II chapter 30. pdftobrainrot.org/share/51ade6...
“Humanity is just a goon” 🤔 🤣
Absolutely. I think the inner logic is very deep between the 1st and the rest
Thank you for sharing your story and that "God’s family makes no sense in earthly terms." While my story is different than yours, I've experienced "a different family" too. It is good and bittersweet, especially around the holidays.
Students told me that they are using "pdf to brainrot" near the end of the semester. Apparently you plug in a pdf to read and it puts it into brainrot summary with a videogame video thing too. pdftobrainrot.org
I've always been curious about the proposal that commandments 2-10 being versions/applications of the first commandment - have you run into that idea? e.g #9 "I'll tell/author my own 'truth'"... as being "my own lord"
Just watched the movie "The Post"... it made me want to dig into Nixon further
Aberdeen days - great guy
