Its so weird to me that woke is an insult to some. The alternative is blindly following an old demented crazy person. #FDT

It's crazy to think about all of the absolutely insane behavior that has taken place within the last year. Not a moment of rest. Insane thing to different and equally insane thing. Everything to distract from #Epstine. They'll use any excuse to justify whatever illegal, immoral, evil action.

I've been stalling on this drawing for a long while. Every time I picked a pencile, I'd get so mad. So I let it sit for a year. I let it sit for far too long. It shouldn't have taken Federally sanctioned murder for this drawing to finish.

One hand on the forehead, forcing my eyes open to the horrors of the world. Another hand over my mouth is keeping it shut, so I can't deny what my eyes are telling me. A long track of blood rolls down my cheek in honor of Renee Good. And pool of blood forms in the other eye for Silverio Villegas González. Another person murdered by ICE in 2025. In the center of my eye, you can see a silhouette of an officer firing his gun. The muzzle flash acts as the highlight of my eye. A fire burns in the background as we can see everything is not fine in MN. Everything is not okay in the USA.

Still, I held on to my idea, thinking, "someone will do something, right?" #LiberationDay hits. Designed mass chaos. Instability introduced into the markets by design so the working class sells high, and the rich can swoop in and by low. "How is this legal? ***

A self portrait done in charcoal. It's very early stages. Everything is blocked in. One of my hands is over my mouth, to keep me quiet. And the other hand is holding my eyes open to see the horrors that have fallen over our country.

I've had the idea for this wip for a while.
I got the idea after all the #DOGE cuts started. But I thought to myself, "whats the point?" Id be the only one seeing it, it wont change any minds. Then #Isreal just continued to escalate their genocidal war over the civilians in #Gaza. ***

Finished up this painting after a long hiatus. Made some major changes to the position of the book and hands.

Can you comment "Ahhh" if you read alt tags. I'm curious if I should keep doing them Description: A young woman with long golden hair reading a book. The portait at this point is developed far further than anything else. The sweater hands and book are still in the very early stages. They are just roughed in with a neutral color. My thoughts so far: This has been a real delight to work on in the last couple of sittings. It hasn't ever moved backwards, but we have made some lateral moves along the way. A lot of times when I think, "this hasn't changed at all!" or "I'm just wasting her time, I'm not going anywhere with this project" The problem has been me getting in my way. Make one small correction here. Another there. And keep going down the line. Before you know it, it'll start taking shape. But it is hard to remember that in the moment when all you can think is, "this is shit." You and me need to give ourselves some grace. We'll get there

This painting was meant as a study for a larger project: that I don't think I'll start up anytime soon. But it did allow me to workshop a lot challenges. Lovely drawing

I suppose you're right. It's more about the journey than anything. The process definitely taught me a lot that I'll take to my next painting

This painting is a study of light. The way it washes down our model and catches on certain features. You see the natural light break into warm and cool. A warmer light centering primarily on her portrait and chest, fades into cooler tones as it washes across the rest of her body.

It's always weird finishing a project. There's no celebration or fanfare. It's just done. Smile cause it happened

Beautiful design and character

Session 2.5 My model went on break for school, so I took some time to develop the underpainting from a photo. That way, next time I have her in the hot seat I can go after the colors that natural light allows. I've stuck with solely neutral colors (Ivory Black, White, and Raw Umber) as I refined the drawing and value structure
