A fully painted, 3d printed figure of 2000AD character Slaine, as he appeared on the cover of The Horned God. Slaine is wearing little clothing, a loincloth, a stylised metal belt and a large cloak, and his skin is covered in blue tattoos and blood. He holds a large battleaxe in his right hand, the head resting on the ground, and a long pole in his right, from which hangs two severed, green orc heads. He is stood on a large, grey rock, painted qnd textured to look like a snowy mountaintop.
A closeup shot of Slaine from the shoulders up, showing the heavily verdigrised amulets hanging from his cloak, as well as his wild dark hair. The lower part of his face has been shaded to imply stubble, whereas the upper half has been highlighted to emphasise the lines on his brow, which are then broken up by the bright red stripes that run from his forehead, over his eyes, and then down his cheeks.
A close up of the large metal belt wrapped around Slaine's waist, stylised to look like a snarling, tusked beast. In the source material, most of the metal Slaine wears is depicted as this vibrant, cool blue tone. I took a bit of artistic license on this piece and painted these elements as if they were bronze, stained bright blue by verdigris except for on raised areas, where the original colour still shines through.
A close up of the two orc heads hanging from Slaine's trophy pole. While my background is in painting warhammer models, I wanted to give these orcs a less vivid, more grounded skin tone to better tie them in with the rest of the piece. Additionally, I wanted the heads to appear like they are still relatively "fresh", so while I used muted, earthy greens for the skin, I made use of red and purple glazes in the recesses to suggest that, while dead, there is still blood in these trophy heads.
And here he is: Slaine, the Horned God!
Definitely pleased with how he turned out (and thankfully so is my commissioner), especially so with how the blue metal and skin tones! Still not used to painting such big figures, but will have to do so again in future!

A partially completed, 3d printed figure of 2000AD character Slaine, as he appeared on the cover of The Horned God. While the figure is mostly painted and assembled, a couple of parts; his trophies and axe head, have been left unattached for ease of painting.
A close up of Slaine's upper half, focused on his face. While the broad strokes have mostly been applied, in terms of colour, the details still need to be applied.
Oops! Forgor to post WIPs again!
Well here's some more partially completed Slaine, as of about a day ago, with the final pics to come tomorrow.
#miniaturepainting #commission
A partially painted, 3d printed figure of the 2000AD character Slaine, specifically as depicted on the cover of The Horned God. The figure is only partially assembled, with a number of part being left separate for ease of painting, including the head and handle of his axe, as well as two severed orc heads.
A close up of the axe and orc heads from the previous picture, giving a closer view of the colours and textures used for both.
A close up view of Slaine's upper half, specifically to show of his metalwear (and no ther reasons!). I took a bit of a creative liberty with the metal here, as the original artwork shows this metal as quite an eyecatching blue, and painted it as bronze, stained a bright blue by verdigris, with some of its original colour shining through on the edges and raised areas.
At long last, I've got some commission WIPs for you painting enjoyers to... enjoy?
This is Slaine, a big fella originally from 2000AD comics and, standing at just shy of 10" tall, he really is a big fella! Still a fair way to go still, so watch this space!
#miniaturepainting #Commission
Not posted anything in a lil while (sorry folks ๐ญ) but commission WIP photos are approaching! A large fella has been both printed and now primed, so watch this space!

Quick repost of my Santa Claws and Marron art, plus two other Yugioh Cardmas art pieces I did for the Domain server last year, featuring some Deck Masters and some classic storyline monsters!
#yugioh #domainformat #art
Yeah, you're right, I just keep forgetting lol :p
Art of the yugioh monster cards "Santa Claws" and "Outstanding Dog Marron" looking like The Grinch and Max, both stood in front of a large sack with the Domain Format logo on the front.
Not done any non-pixel digital art in a while, but the Yu-Gi-Oh Domain Format server announced an art event last night, so here's Santa Claws as the Grinch and best boy Marron as Max!
Here's hoping Grinch Claws sees the error of his was and returns everyone's Deck Masters before it's too late!
Gates: Crushed
Mind: Blown! ๐
(Looks rad as hell, as always! Love your use of colour for all the different armour palettes!)
A buff santa model from the Rumbleslam team "The North Swole". From the waist down, he's wearing the classic santa red trousers with white trim, with black boots and gold buckles. From the waist up, however, Santa is incredibly muscular (probably from lugging presents all Chrismas eve) and has a few tattoos snaking round his arms. He has golden beads in his beard, a classic santa hat on his head and a pair of brass knuckles labelled "naughty" qnd "nice" worn over black, fingerless gloves.
Seeing as it's the season, here's an unreasonably buff Santa from the Rumbleslam team "The North Swole".
Better hope you're on the Nice List this year! ๐
Oh damn, I thought it looked cool with just the one lil fella, but that's gonna look amazing with a bunch of different armour colour schemes!
Thank you! Been super into painting the robits for a while so I'm glad it's paying off!
A squad of converted Eldar Exodite snipers. The models have splashes of bright colours all over them, in particular their hair, their armour and any trophies they have, but are somewhat obscured by the drab brown of their camo cloaks and gun wrappings.
A large miniature of a Tarrasque: a large, dinosaur like creature from D&D, stood roaring atop a rocky outcrop. The monster has a tan underbelly, bright orangey-brown armour plates along its back and glowing yellow eyes. The ground it stands on is covered in long grasses of varying colours and flowers with yellow petals.
Four battletech mechs, all painted in pride flag themed colour schemes stand in a snowy landscape. A King Crab in Lesbian Pride colours, The one that looks like a fighter jet with arms and legs in Gay Men's Pride colours, A Vapour Eagle in Bisexual Pride colours, And a Wolverine in Trans Pride colours.
Miniatures of the Transformers characters Soundwave and his cassette minions Ravage, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Ratbat, Frenzy and Rumble, all painted in their G1 colours and stood on mechanical looking bases coloured in a blue to magenta gradient.
Heya, I'm Kat, I'm trans and am a UK-based freelance artist who specialises in miniature painting (though sometimes the minis aren't so mini!) who's commissions are very much open!
Two 10mm scale models of the Transformers character "Arcee", in both her vehicle and robot form. Both models are mainly painted cool white and warm pink colours, with accents of red and blue on their Autobot emblems and windscreen respectively, with colour placement based on her appearances in the movie and 80s cartoon. Both models are posed on bases textured to look like a city street, complete with road markings and pavement slabs.
Another view of Arcee in robot mode. I do love the 80s cartoon aesthetic, but it is really funny to me how hard the fem Transformers got hit by the dimorphism bat, especially when compared to the Constructicons and other blocky bots.
Another view of Arcee in her vehicle form. Fun bit of trivia I picked up while getting refence images: apparently Arcee and Blurr are supposed to be gendered counterparts to one another, based on how their vehicle forms are very similar ๐ค
We Robit-posting tonight, and this time it's Arcee!
Really like how the cool white looks on her with the black lines, plus I think it goes really well with the warmer pink I used.
Still have to get my butt in gear and finish Hotrod and that'll be all my Autobots done!
#transformers
Four 10mm scale models of Transformers characters "Bumblebee" and"Cliffjumper", in both their robot and vehicle forms. Bumblebee, on the left, is predominantly a warm yellow, with dark grey sections on his arms and legs in bot mode, whereas Cliffjumper, on the right, is a dark red. Both characters are mounted on bases made to look like city streets and are painted in block colours with black edges to emulate the 80's cartoon.
Another view of Bumblebee in both his forms. Despite yellow typically being seen qs a hard colour to paint well, I really like how it looks here on Bee. More effort actually went into figuring out colours for the glass, which took a few goes before I settled on shades of blue that I liked.
Another view of both forms of Cliffjumper. Cliff's red was a little tricky, or at least trickier than finding a yellow for Bee, but I finally opted for a shade that, while still a darker tone, didn't make him look too dark and desaturated overall.
Defying all known laws of Transformers canon, here's Bumblebee and Cliffjumper alive in the same continuity at the same time!
These lil fellas were mostly pretty fun to work on, but wow those faces were little! Think I might have to take another shot at them at some point in the future :p
Someone save me and my wallet, I've been watching RP Archive videos again and I've got my eyes set on a Proxxon hot wire cutter so I can make cool tiles for in-person D&D ๐ญ
In case anyone here saw me spamming a bunch of posts about making my own 3d models and though "Wow! I'd sure love to buy STL files from this cool lady!" then think no longer! Available now for purchase are STL's for Legally Disctinct Character "Head Shredder"!:

A large miniature (bigature?) of the DnD monster "The Tarrasque". The monster is posed on a large rocky outcrop, scattered with tufts of wild grasses, and is mouth open, mid-roar. The models topside scales are a gradient of orangey-brown to qn almost bone colour at the tips, while the underside is a warm, light brown. The fangs and spikes, of which there are many, are also gradiated from brown to a light beige at the tip.
An 8mm scale Battletech mech (a Wolverine, I think) advancing through a snow capped alpine forest, weapon drawn and glowing hot. The model is painted in cool blues and hot pinks, reminiscent of the Trans Pride flag, and bears a freehanded Blahaj, the Ikea shark, on its left shoulder guard.
A pair of wrestlers from Rumbleslam posed in a custom built, Dwarven mountain hold themed ring. The wrestler on the right is a goblin in a red singlet and cap, pointing to the crowd qnd calling his next move. Below him is an unreasonable buff Santa, shirtless of course, covered in freehanded tattoos, but otherwise wearing his classic Santa gear and no doubt ready to put this goblin on the naughty list. The ring is made from XPS foam, old dungeon tiles, some 3d printed elements, old warhammer bits, string and a whole load of snow scenic effects.
A Legally Distinct Morphing Robot, based on the character "Shredhead", in both bot and vehicle form, in 10mm scale. Sculpted from scratch in Blender, printed on my trusty Mars 3 Pro, then painted with GW and Vallejo colours in a cel-shaded style, to emulate the old cartoon look. Both models are mostly a deep purple with splashes of magenta, but also incorporate a detailed, free-handed mural of a wizard, barbarian and dragon, as well as lightning bolts which appear on various panels. They are also both posed on a base detailed to look like a city street, complete with road markings, a fire hydrant and a totalled car.
Oops, completely missed #PortfolioDay yesterday! Ah well, better late than never, I suppose!
Hi, I'm Kat! I paint minis, make terrain, make pixel art, take commissions and, most recently, have started 3d modeling and printing my own models, based on a certain 80's robot cartoon!
A low poly 3d model, rendered in Blender, based on the vehicle form of Mirage from the G1 Transformers cartoon: a 1980's era F1 racecar with an Autobot logo on the car's nose.
The same low poly 3d model, rendered in Blender from the previous post, viewed from head on and above.
The same low poly 3d model, rendered in Blender from the previous post, but viewed from behind and at a slight angle.
That's right, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you: it's Mirage!
Well, Mirage in vehicle form, that is! Still getting on with the bot form sculpt , but it's moving a lot faster than it did with Shredhead, so hopefully there should be a fully modeled Autobot to show off real soon!
#Transformers
6 10mm scale miniatures of the "Constructicons" from Transformers in their robot forms. All in various stages of completion, the models are varying amounts of dark purple, vivid green and light grey, with black lines marking the edges.
6 10mm scale models of the "Constructicons" from Transformers, in their vehicle forms. Like the previous image, they are all in varying stages of completion, qnd qre painted in the same purple, green qnd grey colour scheme. Fun fact: despite only being 10mm scale, these guys are still kinda big! While I thought painting the bot and vehicle forms together would be a smart idea, boy did I run out of desk space FAST!
10mm scale miniatures of the Transformers characters Arcee and Hotrod, both partially painted. Arcee is mostly a cool blue, soon to be cool white, and pink, while Hotrod is a bright orange and yellow, with reddish-purple elements.
Gonna be away from the work desk for a lil bit, so here's a quick WIP post of a few things in various stages of completion!
Constructicons may be inferior, but they've been pretty chill to paint so far and their bases turned out real nice!
#transformers #miniaturepainting
Been working on some 10mm scale Transformers minis for a little while now, but I can't help but brag about this guy here!
Not only do I feel they're they my best looking cel-shaded paint job so far, but I sculpted them in Blender myself and that still kinda blows my mind!
Just a few more pics because why not? ;)
Still have a little stl tweaking to do for optimisation's sake, but I'll likely be putting this guy's files on the purple 3d file website soon, so expect a link to drop for that at some point if any of you fancied nabbing this guy for yourself :)
Fully painted, 10mm scale miniatures of "Shredhead", a character from the Transformers Skybound comic books, in both robot and vehicle form. In robot form, they carry a large, orangey-yellow sword and a shield decorated with the same design from the side of the van. Their body is mostly dark purple and magenta accents, with some elements being a light grey. In van form, they are the same dark purple, with the right side of the van painted with a mural of a barbarian, a dragon and a wizard, all in front of a castle.
Fully painted, 10mm scale miniature of "Shredhead", a character from the Transformers Skybound comic books, in robot form This model was one of three poses I modeled for the character, this one being advancing with sword drawn. Behind them is a crushed up, wrecked car, designed by @porble (man, I love their lil wrecked cars! :D )
Fully painted, 10mm scale miniatures of "Shredhead", a character from the Transformers Skybound comic books, in robot form. A side shot showing a clearer view of Shredhead's shield and the mural painted on it.
Fully painted, 10mm scale miniatures of "Shredhead", a character from the Transformers Skybound comic books, in vehicle form. Coin for scale, just so I can flex qnd be smug about how much mural I managed to paint on the side of this tiny little van. Honestly though, this thing was crazy small and real intimidating to even start on, but it felt great to work on once I got started!
From a render in Blender to painted on my worktable, fresh off of the Skybound Transformers comics: it's Shredhead!
Not to keep droning on about it, but this is legit one of my proudest pieces of work, like it feels unreal that this is something I've made entirely myself, from start to finish!
Printed and primed: here's Shredhead in both bot and vehicle form!
Got them sized for 10mm scale to go along with the other Transformers I've already got printed and the details still turned out great!
Now there's nothing left to do besides paint them up nice!
A wide 3d render of the Transformers character, Shredhead, in three different poses: One with sword drawn and advancing, another with a more casual, idling stance, and the third with their sword held above their head triumphantly.
A 3d render of the Transformers character, Shredhead, designed to look similar to the classic G1 cartoon style. Their sword is held out in front of them as if advancing into battle. In the Skybound comics, Shredhead's sword is a bit more decorated, but I chose to leave those elements off so it didn't jar with the rest of the design.
A 3d render of the Transformers character, Shredhead, designed to look similar to the classic G1 cartoon style. Their sword is held over their head, as if in triumph or letting out a battle cry. For the most part, Shred was my choice for my first attempt at modeling a Transformer because, while they do have quite a bit going on, design-wise, they were still a recent enough character that I felt I could take more liberties when reinterpreting them as a G1 bot.
A 3d render of the Transformers character, Shredhead, designed to look similar to the classic G1 cartoon style. Their sword is loose in their grip but their shield is slightly raised, as if idling, but still on guard. I'm not sure which character to take a crack at next, honestly! I've had a lot of fun figuring out Blender this way and it's got me really hyped to do more and learn more. So if you've been reading these, feel free to reply with a character suggestion, ideally a niche fave who never gets enough rep!
Well here they are: After so many WIP photos, here's the final render shots of my G1 Shredhead design! I wanted to give them a few different poses to give me some variety for printing, painting and playing.
Speaking of, the first test is already printing! ๐

A low poly 3d render of the Transformers character "Shredhead", in their robot form, modeled based on the classic G1 style. Also included is an unposed, unconnected hand, and the whacking great sword Shredhead uses for chopping up Decepticons.
A low poly 3d render of the Transformers character "Shredhead", with a close up zoom in on their head.
Been a lil while since the last 3d modeling update, right?
Well, G1 Shredhead's looking pretty much done right about now, with just a shield left before I can crack on with posing, test prints and, finally, the paint job! :D

Bruh I'm legit so close to finishing my Shredhead sculpt and am so looking forward to making the poses, plus printing and painting, but god damn am I anxious about sculpting the head and face! ๐
