Yeah, it is more common in rural settings, or for grander houses in towns and cities. My brother lives in a named house out in the countryside, and my family has links to the Channel Islands - most of the houses there have names (often in local channel island languages) rather than street addresses

This has definitely been an eventful trip. I am still stuck in TromsΓΈ - the first 2 flights this morning to Hammerfest were cancelled. My main luggage is currently MIA. The helicopter I was trying to get to is cancelled today anyway. Been traveling for 24 hours so farβ¦
Made it as far as TromsΓΈ. Fortunately I should still be able to get to Hammerfest in time with an early flight from here tomorrow
It was nice to get a few extra bonus days with the family this Christmas but getting back up to Hammerfest is proving surprisingly challenging. Technical issues and bad weather are compounding delaysβ¦
Well, maybe not. Got bumped off the helicopter and job postponed till the weekend⦠On the positive side I will get to spend Christmas with the family after all.

This has been my latest case making project. As always, when you make it yourself you know all the mistakes you made but I am generally pretty pleased with how this one turned out. Traycases are definitely more challenging than slipcases!

Set myself the same reading target this year as I had last year - 100 books. Set a side target of 40000 pages. If I manage the same level of reading as last year both targets are pretty achievable. Will see how paternity leave affects my reading when I am off work from March to Julyβ¦

November reading review. Not my strongest month - some sickness at the end of the month slowed me down a lot! Dreadful was the pick of the monthβs reads - it was just a fun and easy read with added moat squid π
And I need to boost the artist here as well - Maura OConnor is not someone I was familiar with but her art really suits the book here!

I have been able to snag all their other books in public preorder but it is super stressful (Hitchhikers sold out in 5 minutes!). These are premium books but they are so worth it if you love the artistic perfection of fine press books!
