Want to light up your baby’s brain? Think β€œserve and return.” 🎾

Much like a tennis match, serve and return entails back and forth interaction during which adult and child trade conversational (and other expressive) turns.

Listening to the stories of women who have experienced child removal due to drug and alcohol use

Listening to the stories of women who have experienced child removal due to drug and alcohol use

We have listened directly to mothers with lived experience of substance use and child removal to learn about the impact it had on their mental health. For meaningful change to occur, we must ensure women’s voices remain central to the conversations. maternalmentalhealthalliance.org/news/trauma-...

Because it's not enough simply to say concepts possess movement; you also have to construct intellectually mobile concepts. Just as it's not enough to make moving shadows on the wall, you have to construct images that can move by themselves.

Radical acceptance/delusion maybe but watching humans take care of each other through this gives me a lot of hope for the future. Even in the microcosm/my personal experience: the past 48 hours, literally all of my friends and loved ones have checked on me. Institutions may fail us, but we won’t.

Government needs Sure Start 2.0 to hit school-readiness goals If Labour wants to hit its target of 75 per cent of 5-year-olds being school-ready, it will need to engage heavily in early years support - just as we had before, says Anne Longfield

www.tes.com/magazine/ana...

School readiness is the fruit of good family and community support from conception. Including a strong focus on parental sensitivity and family relationships. I really hope a focus on school readiness is built on this broader understanding.
