Last year, 229 pregnant women were held in prison. Community based alternatives are essential to protect mothers & babies. Our paper published today @bmj.com highlights the need to stop incarcerating pregnant women @drtanyacapper.bsky.social @birthcompanions.bsky.social @womeninprison.bsky.social
Because it's not enough simply to say concepts possess movement; you also have to construct intellectually mobile concepts. Just as it's not enough to make moving shadows on the wall, you have to construct images that can move by themselves.
Radical acceptance/delusion maybe but watching humans take care of each other through this gives me a lot of hope for the future. Even in the microcosm/my personal experience: the past 48 hours, literally all of my friends and loved ones have checked on me. Institutions may fail us, but we wonβt.

School readiness is the fruit of good family and community support from conception. Including a strong focus on parental sensitivity and family relationships. I really hope a focus on school readiness is built on this broader understanding.
